Like I said..

It's been too long since I blogged last. I'm finding this new Blogger to be a pain, I have to add the photos before I write the text not after like I'm used to. I don't think Blogger should be taking that decision for me. And it took me a few tries to figure out that this was the problem. If I add the photos after I write the text it doesn't publish and I just get an error message and get thrown out of Blogger.com and can't access it for an hour or so. Well, maybe not that long but it feels that long when you got something you want to post and everything disappears. Yeah, that's the worst thing, everything you've done goes out the window and nothing sticks, it's not even saved! And you can't save coz you added the photos after the writing part.

There are other issues I'm having but this is the one that bugs me the most and makes me not wanna post. Well, that and I don't have anything to blog about. I haven't picked up a needle in who knows how long, I've been feeling blue and restless. I hope it's going to pass coz I have that Winter Wonderland Exchange to finish and finish :-)

A week without posts

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted in that long. The reason for this mini-hiatus is mainly lack of stitching time. Despite that I have found a design for the Winter Wonderland Exchange on SBEBB. It's a very beautiful design, if I say so myself, and I hope my parter agrees. The exchange is secret so I can't show you pictures. I guess you'll just have to be patient.. I hope to finish the stitching part next week sometime, that is if I find some more time to stitch.

Because I've started stitching the exchange piece I have put Winter Queen back down but I don't think her rest this time is gonna be as long as last time she went down for a nap. I've been having too much fun stitching her and I can't wait till I see her next time.

This weekend I've spent my time rearranging furniture in my apartment and while doing so I did a little rearranging in my stitching stash.. I had a dresser that wasn't being used very efficiently so I decided to make that my stash dresser. It's now in my new stitching/computer room. I have my most comfy chair there with the floor lamp and it's so cozy in there. I haven't really tested out my new stitching corner but I've sat there and imagined how awesome this is gonna be and I can't wait to get busy there :-)

I've also spent some time this week drooling over new designs on ONS. I particularly like Little House Needlework's Chocolate Shoppe. I would love to see that design all stitched up in my little kitchen. I must remember to update my wishlist sometime soon. There are so many other designs I've been coveting lately so my wishlist is kinda out of date.. The designs on the list are still valid but I haven't updated it in ages..

Lizzie*Kate SAL

My first finish in this SAL. I'm joining the ladies in my online stitching club, Allt í Kross, in stitching the 12 Blessings of Christmas from Lizzie*Kate and my first finish is Joy. Well, it's Gleði, coz Linda, our listmum, translated the captions and charted them for us as well :-) Isn't she nice? :-D I think most of us are doing these in Icelandic.

If you want you can click the pic and see it a little larger. Now to the details. I'm doing these ornies on 32ct Lambswool Jobelan with a mixture of WDW, GAST and DMC threads. This one has one GAST, 3 WDW and 2 DMC.

I'm really pleased with this ornie and can't wait till next month, but we're doing these as a monthly SAL, since there are 12 months and 12 designs :-)

In other news I've made a little more progress on Winter Queen despite the fact I used today to stitch up this little ornie. I'm going to continue working on her tomorrow :-) Maybe I'll post a pic tomorrow evening?

Winter Queen WIP again

This is after a little more stitching has been done. I don't believe how fast she's growing at the moment. I am so loving her and it's such fun to work on her. I hope I can keep up the momentum :-)

Until I lose my interest in this project I'm going to stitch on it exclusively. I do have the SAL to think about but right now the Winter Queen is the only thing that I will work on.

I sincerely hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Celebration and nobody stumbled too hard into the new year ;-) My new year's celebrations were very conservative this time around, I had to work on New Years Eve and New Years Day. But that was ok, I ate wonderful food which my brother cooked and watched the show my fellow towns people put on at midnight. One of my cats did however manage to get outside right before midnight on New Years Eve and I was worried sick but he showed up rather scared and a little frazzled at around 1 am. I was just glad to see him safe and sound :-)

I'm not going to post any goals for the new year and there is no review of goals.. I just plan to enjoy my stitching time this year and show off the results on this blog as I've done till now. I have been giving the Winter Queen a little love and affection the last couple of days and she's growing a little bit. As soon as I think there is enough progress I'll post a pic.

There is talk of a SAL in my stitching group, Allt í Kross, and I'm going to participate. Well, I did come up with the idea, so of course I'll join ;-) We are going to stitch up the 12 Blessings of Christmas from Lizzie*Kate and because we are a diverse group of stitchers we are planning to do one a month, starting this january. I am not sure which one I'm starting with, but maybe I'll do Joy first. As with everything else, I'll post a pic as soon as I start and have something to show :-D

I've signed up for one exchange and I've already received my recipient's name and am busily looking for an appropriate design. This exchange is called Winter Wonderland and it's being organized on SBEBB. It's going to be fun, coz there is one requirement in this exchange. There has to be a snowman in the design.. We all know how much I like them ;-)

Santa finished!

I put the final french knots in just a few moments ago. Well the last thing I did was put the bow in the doll's hair :-) So cute. I am now positive I will not do the wording on top, I like the design as it is, it's festive enough I think :-)

This bookmark I got from my sister on Christmas. I am already using it and I love it. Isn't my sister sweet to me :-) I just wanted to brag about it :-)

I also want to comment on the new look for my blog. I felt it needed a little facelift since I moved over to the new blogger. I also changed the name of the blog, but not the link. Since I do it only in english now I don't see why the title shouldn't be in english too. I've also been spending hours upon hours labeling the posts, but it's not done and will probably never be done.. But at least it's started, just like all my other WIP's ;-D

A progress pic of my santa project

It's a dimensions kit called We Believe I think. I just love this santa, I've had this kit in my stash for about a year and a half so it was about time it got stitched.

As you can see it's not quite done, I've got a little backstitching to do and there is the matter of the wording on top... I'm not sure I'll be stitching that. I think I may leave the santa as he is.

I was involved in two Christmas ornament exchanges this year, one was on SBEBB and the other was in Allt í Kross group. Rósa Tom was the one stitching an ornament for me in the latter exchange and she wrapped it up so I didn't open it till Christmas Eve. Here is a pic of the ornament she made me. Of course it had a snowman on it ;-)

Isn't it gorgeous? I love it. But Rósa Tom sent me another ornament made of felt. That was so cute too.

Sorry how blurry this one is. It was fine on the screen on the camera but on the computer screen, not so fine..

I feel so lucky and loved. Thank you Rósa Tom. I think I forgot to send you a thank you email, but be sure that I loved it and am proud to display them in my living room :-)

Christmas Ornament Exchange

My camera got her batteries today and now I can share the beautiful ornament Satomi made me in the SBEBB Christmas Ornament Exchange.

Isn't it gorgeous? And here is another photo with all the goodies from the package she sent me. The fabric on the table is also from Satomi. Very pretty and festive :-)

My parter has also recieved her ornament, but I don't have a photo of it to share coz my camera was being diffcult to work with..

Christmas stitching

I haven't really been stitching much lately, but I am almost finished with a Dimensions kit I started a month and a half ago. There's almost nothing left so of course I haven't touched it in a week or ten days! My camera is not working, it needs batteries and I just bought some but now I can't find them. Christmas stress is getting to me.

I just finished decorating my apartment. There are christmas lights in the windows and the small christmas tree is now in it's place. I don't decorate it, coz it has lights (the lights are those fiber threads that change colors and it's so cute). Everything is ready now for the holidays to begin. I'll be celebrating this season with my two brothers and it's going to be nice. No big fuzz except for those lights in my living room :-D and the snowmen all over the room :-) I've decided to start collecting snowmen decorations and speaking of those. I got the lovliest ornament from Japan! I took part in SBEBB christmas ornament exchange and was lucky enough to receive an ornament from Satomi in Japan. I just love my new ornament and it's now displayed in the living room where everybody can see it. She also sent some goodies and I just loved them all. I am posting the photos as soon as I find those darn batteries!

I also took part in another exchange in my icelandic club, Allt í Kross, and my gifter there was Rósa Tom. She wrapped her ornament so I'm going to open the package on Christmas Eve. I can't wait :-D

Hi everyone, or those still reading this blog. I'm sorry for abandoning it for so long. I've just not been stitching much lately or feeling like updating this blog.

My mother passed away on October 27th and I've been struggling a bit since then. I'm trying to find comfort in stitching but my mind is racing all over and even if stitching is calming me it only works for a moment or two and then I'm all over again and not finding the peace I'm looking for so I give up.

I'm going to come back but at this moment I'm not sure when that will be.

Victoria Sampler October Needleroll

It's finally assembled and ready to be sent off. I'm extremely pleased with this needleroll and sure hope that my friend will like it :-)

I'm feeling a little better than the last time I posted on my blog. My throat is still itchy and I need to spray my nose every 8 hrs so I can breathe and I'm coughing like crazy, but I am feeling a little better :-D

The kitty pi bed is done. It's been through two cycles in the washing machine and all I need is the right shape to stretch it over. My trash bin is too small.. As soon as I've got the desired shape I'll post a pic.

The cat bed is coming along well, I've got like 15 rounds to complete and then I throw it in the washing machine for a spin or two. Can't wait to see it finished, I may just go and knit some now ;-)

Monthly Bits

I got my monthly bits in the mail today. I'm kinda underwhelmed by the surprise me option. This month the colors are all bluegreens. I do love the WDW threads though and can't wait for the next installment :-) But I'm thinking about changing the surprise me option to silks only.

In other news I've started a kitty pi bed like I've seen spreading like wildfire through out Blogosphere. I just had to :-) My cats would love one I think and if they do I might do one for each of them, three in all! I've got no pic to show of the bed but maybe tomorrow.

I've been hard at work trying to finish a Victoria Sampler birthday needleroll for a dear friend. She celebrated her birthday last thursday and today I finally put the final stitches into the needleroll. I have the actual finishing left to do but that shouldn't take as long as the stitching.. I'm hoping :-)

Isn't it cute! I apologize for the creases in the fabric on the photo. I'm going to iron it now ;-D

I hope Anna likes it and hope she won't see it till it reaches her when I'm done. She's not aware of this blog or so I believe. I've never heard her mention it so I guess she doesn't read it :-)

Winter freebie HD!

Last thursday when I finished the Margaret Sherry cat I had every intention of starting the ballerina and I did (her legs are done and her ballerina skirt is taking shape) but friday I wanted to start something else and I went on a quest in my stash to find something that called to me. I found a huck towel and after searching on my computer for a suitable design for it I found a freebie from Michaels that took my fancy. And now I'm done (there is the matter of the buttons that I'm not sure I'll put on, and the couching of the star which I'm not doing).

I'm having to use blogger's built in photo thingy coz Photobucket is being a pain and not loading up on my computer... I seem to be somewhat strange in comparison to other stitching bloggers which all seem to like blogger's photo thingy better than photobucket. I much prefer Photobucket coz then I can see the photos in the newsgator. Which is nice :-)

Margaret Sherry SAL small finish

I just put in the last backstitches in the kitty picture of the 12 Days of Christmas project. I started the cute kitty something like 6 months ago and now it's finally finished :-D Whoo hoo!!!

Now I'm going to start the ballerina, it represents the 9 ladies dancing and it's a cute pig in a ballerina outfit :-D Well, there's not much to say except now I only have 4 more squares left on this wallhanging to do and then it's finished :-D

Bingo win - present from Edda

I was lucky enough last week to win a bingo game hosted by Edda on our online stitching group Allt í Kross and as a prize she sent me some gifts. I'm totally blown away by her generosity.

As you can see in this photo she sent me a bookmark from Polstitches to stitch, it has lovely hand dyed fabric and the pattern for it is very cute, using satin stitches. I also got a hardanger pattern from Dinky Dyes that I'm definately going to do soon, and as if that wasn't enough Edda sent 9 gorgeous threads, 5 from The Dye is Cast (all named after precious stones, like rubies and such) and 4 from Dinky Dyes (names like super nova, black hole and so on) and those are silks. All of these are so precious and so much prettier in real life. I love the Snoopy card too :-D

Thank you Edda, you're amazing and these gifts are very special to me :-D

Margaret Sherry SAL

It's been 3 months since I last posted about this SAL project and then it wasn't even to post progress, it was to try and give myself some motivation to continue with it. Well, it didn't work till now. I finished the crib set this morning (monday morning) and I felt so rejuvinated and was still in a stitching frenzy so I picked this poor SAL up and kept going with the 5th day that is the golden ring with the cat in the middle, so cute ;-)

This is where it is now and the cat is coming along very nicely and I can see the end of this square. I plan to continue with it tomorrow.

Crib set

Redwork exchange arrived in Australia

The postal system worked really hard this time and delivered the redwork exchange in excellent time from Iceland to Australia. I believe I sent it off on Sept. 11th and it arrived today in Tessa's mailbox :-D

I sent the bag out late mostly because I was so insecure in my sewing machine skills. I had decided that I was going to finish it as a bag and wanted to have lining in it but the problem was that I had never done anything like that before and wasn't sure how to do it. Around the same time I lost my summer job (that I was hoping would be extended) and had to find me another job for winter (hopefully for longer than that though ;-) ). That only added stress to the mix and a whole week passed where I was learning the ropes of my new job. In spite of everything I did manage to make the bag myself with no help (which I'm really proud of now but at the time I never thought I'd make it). In hindsight I really shouldn't have stressed myself out like I did seeing as I managed this task fine once I sat down and applied myself to it and concentrated on it. I guess I need to have more faith in my abilites!

It seems that Tessa likes her new bag and that makes me very happy. I'm hoping she enjoys her new bag and finds great uses for it, whatever they might be.

Now the details: I stitched an old Icelandic pattern and used Gloriana Silk called Poinsettia on Cashel linen. The color of the fabric was putty (I got it as a birthday present ;-) ). The pattern is the same one as Linda used on the biscornu she made me :-) We clearly both have good tastes! She's actually the one who gave me the pattern. She has a book with old Icelandic patterns that were found in old churches and in the homes of the wealthy. That's where this pattern comes from.

Moroccan Tile Biscornu

When surfing on the web earlier in the week I found a gorgeous freebie that I thought would be perfect for a biscornu and after finding a scrap piece of linen and the ideal thread I set about starting this freebie.

I chose to do the orange one (but they're all beautiful, I may do the others later ;-D) and here is the finished product:

The floss is Gloriana Silk called Autumn Arbor and it's just so yummy and gorgeous in itself! It does look better in real life than in this photo of mine, although I did try and get the best light in the flat but this is how it is sometimes :-D

I got mail!

Yesterday I finally got my order from Sew and So and in the envelope was some stitchbows for my floss (now it's all packed neatly away in binders for easy access) and I just had to get some Brittercup love.. I love Brittercup Designs and the cats they make so I had to buy Keep It Clean and Britty Kitties IV I think it was. I so want to do the Snuggle With Me one and the clean and dirty kitties :-D

Biscornu exchange for Linda

This is kinda funny, Linda was my secret partner in this exchange on Allt í Kross and I was hers!

Anywhoo, I got word that she received her biscornu today and I'm so happy she liked it. We were asked when we signed up for the exchange if we had any favorite colors and she said she liked all colors except for pastels. Then I thought I should use some strong colors and chose floss from Needle Necessities (I think it may have chosen me coz it came in the Monthly Bits last month and the same day I was wondering what colors I should use for Linda's biscornu). The floss color is Red Hat Lady or something like that and it's a gorgeous red/purple combination. It goes so well with the fabric that I chose, but that's a hand-dyed fabric from Silkweaver called Poltergeist. It's a kind of grey color but it has a slight hint of purple (to me at least) and therefor is gorgeous with the floss. I guess you guys should now get a chance to make up your own minds about that :-D

SBEBB Redwork Exchange received

I am so over the moon with this exchange :-) My sender was Karoline in the UK and she made me a kind of pocket. I just love it and the way she finished it too.

Isn't it pretty! She also sent some prints of old samplers and they came in a kind of an envelope of their own. That's what the pocket is lying on. Next is a view inside the pocket:

As you can see Karoline included more gifts. Inside the pocket was a Friendship T-bag and a GAST thread, such a pretty red color. And she charted our names and year on here too. I love this idea :-D Well she didn't leave the back out, there was a little motif there too..

My new beautiful Biscornu

I participated in a Biscornu pillow exchange in the same club as the Round Robin and today I received a biscornu in the mail that Linda (listmum) stitched for me. Not only did she send a gorgeous biscornu, she also included a beautiful fabric and a WDW thread, a beautiful blue color. I'm in awe coz she recently sent me a very generous birthday gift and that was overwhelming and now she has also sent me gifts with the biscornu pillow.. I'm speechless and so thankful :-) I love the way she stitched the pillow and put it together. Simply a gorgeous Biscornu.

Lately my mailbox has been stuffed with all kinds of goodness! I participated in a Round Robin with my Icelandic online stitching club, Allt í Kross, and I just received it today! :-) I'm so happy to see it and the ladies that stitched on it did it so well! I think I will frame it but am still undecided.

On Monday I received my Monthly Bits and this time the Anything Goes option was green threads. It's likely I've said it here before but green is my fav color so it was a pleasant surprise to see the beautiful shades of green that came this month.

And this is not all! Oh, no, there is more and it deserves it's own entry I think.. I have a lot to be thankful for today :-D

Autumn postcard

I just finished stitching on Edda's RR and am quite pleased with the outcome. Edda chose Passione Ricamo's seasonal postcards (the ones that were freebies a while ago on PR's website) as her theme and since I'm the last stitcher I got the one that's left over and that happened to be autumn. I don't mind that at all. In fact the colors chosen are amazingly beautiful, especially together! But oh, boy, there are a lot of colors for such a small design! I didn't count but wouldn't be surprised if it was in the region of 40..

Edda didn't want us to include the wording so this is finished, I just have to add my initials. I'm not sure quite where they'd fit in this design but I'll manage :-)

So hopefully tomorrow this little beauty along with the other seasons is going home to mommy ;-)

In other news I have kinda put down on paper what I'd like the back of the biscornu to be like for the exchange I'm participating in on Allt í Kross yahoo group. Can't wait to know what the recipient feels about the way it turns out. I truly believe it's going to be awesome, dude! (too much Rockstar: Supernova in my system. Áfram Magni!)

The redwork exchange is still not assembled. I did buy another fabric for it and am mulling over in my head what to do for the finishing.. I kinda know but I've never done that before so I'm kinda nervous. But this is gonna be killer, baby! (Rockstar: Supernova is on tv here now (rerun of yesterday's show)). I'm off to watch it on tv and hope Magni doesn't get booted off (only one more hour till we know!) If that happens there's no reason for me to watch this show anymore.. And it's become a guilty pleasure for me :-D I would miss it..

I've been tagged by Outi and now you guys will find out 6 things you most certainly didn't want to know about me nor need to know. But here goes :-)

1. The last serious relationsship of mine ended when I was 21. Since then noone has really been able to win my heart completely.
2. I've just recently started speaking to one of my sisters after 2 years of non-communication.
3. I secretly wanted to use glasses when I was younger. Now that I need them I find that it's not as cool as I thought it would be. Be careful what you wish for...
4. Until today I didn't have a MySpace account. Probably one of the last people not to get one of those..
5. I don't think I'm mature enough to have kids. And frankly I'm not sure I want to have kids. That doesn't take away from the fact that I love my friend's kids and interacting with them, it's just that I'm certain I'd suck at being a mother.
6. I'm 32 years old and I still have no clue what I want to be when I grow up..

I'm not tagging anyone, but if you feel like doing this meme feel free and please mention it in my comments. Then I can go and have a look-see ;-)

From now on I think my posts are going to be in english only. I've grown tired of translating my icelandic and having the posts in both languages makes for some really long posts.. So it's over now. All english all the way. Unless someone objects ;-) Maybe you foreigners like to read the icelandic and guess at what the heck I'm talking about before you go to the english version? Anywhoo, I'm pretty sure all of my icelandic readers are fluent enough in english to read my oh so not eloquent texts.

Ýmislegt

Jæja, ég er búin að sauma stykkið fyrir Redwork skiptin eins og ég sagði áður og er búin að kaupa efni til að "klára" klára en ég hugsa að ég fari í klárið um helgina. Svo er ég búin með framhliðina á Biscornu púðanum en mikið rosalega kemur það flott út. Ég veit ekki hvort ég muni vilja senda hann frá mér, svo flott er framstykkið :-D Ég hef ákveðnar hugmyndir með bakhliðina en ætla að setja það á blað svo ég geri nú enga vitleysu. Svo er bara að sauma þær saman og voila! Tilbúið ;-)

Í öðrum fréttum þá fékk ég Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments Anniversary Edition um daginn og hef alveg misst mig í að skoða æðislegu skrautin sem eru þarna. Sum átti ég reyndar í JCS blöðunum sem ég keypti fyrir seinustu jól. En hin sem ég átti ekki eru sko ekki síðri :-) Svo hefur maður líka tekið betur eftir sumum sem ég hafði veitt litla athygli í upprunalegu blöðunum. Svo finnst mér vera betra skipulag á munstrunum í þessari bók en þau koma strax á eftir myndunum. Þ.e. fyrst kemur opna með mynd af nokkrum skrautum og svo koma munstrin að þeim í þeirri röð sem þau eru í á myndinni.. Skiljiði? Alla vegana finnst mér það mun betra en að allar myndirnar komi strax og svo þarf maður að finna munstrin eftir stafrófsröð.

Sorgarfréttir núna. Friends Gather BB er hætt og ég sakna geðveikt Ornaments with KarenV sem og Stitch-A-Thon og 24hr Challenge. Stitch-A-Thonið sérstaklega því það var oft eini tíminn sem ég gaf mér til að sauma í Vetrardrottningunni. :-(

Misc.

Well, I've finished the piece for the Redwork exchange like I said before and now I've bought the fabric for finishing it off but I think I may do that this coming weekend. I've also finished the front of the Biscornu pillow and gosh, it's looking so great! I'm not sure if I will send it off once it's finished, that's how awesome I think the front pieceis :-D I've got definite ideas for the backpiece but I need to put them on paper so I won't make too many mistakes. Then all I have to do is sew them together and Voila! Ready for send-off!

In other news I got the Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments Anniversary Edition the other day and I've completely lost myself in it and looking at the gorgeous ornaments in there. Some of them I did have in the JCS ornament issues I got before last christmas. But the ones I didn't have are quite cool too :-) And I've also noticed a few that I didn't see in the original mags. And I must say I love the new way of presenting the ornaments and the patterns. First you get the picture of a few ornies and then the patterns right after. No more looking through 100 pages of patterns to find the one you want to stitch! At least I like it better this way.

Some sad news now. Friends Gather BB is gone forever and I sorely miss Ornaments with KarenV as well as the Stitch-A-Thon and 24hr Challenge. The Stitch-A-Thon is especially missed coz it seemed to be the only time I gave myself to work on the Winter Queen :-(

Og þá er komið að mynd af þessum þvílíkt flotta pakka frá Lindu litluskvís. Ég á ekki til orð yfir gjafmildi hennar en hún ákvað að senda aðeins stærri pakka en vanalega af því gjafirnar komu seint til landsins. Hún hefði nú ekki þurft þess en það er auðvitað alltaf gaman að fá stóra pakka ;-D Þarna eru voða sæt munstur, annað frá Donnu Vermillion Giampa og hitt frá Sweetheart Tree, hör, annað er silfurgrátt og hitt er Solo frá Silkweaver, algjört æði. Svo er heill hellingur af handlituðu garni :-D Stranded By The Sea, Six Strand Sweets og Needle Necessities garn. Eins og ég sagði við Lindu þá á ég eftir að hafa gaman af því að leika mér með þá :-D

The last package in the Birthday Exchange

She decided to send a little bigger package than usual coz the ones she ordered came too late for my birthday. She really didn't have to but of course it's always fun to get those big packages ;-D There are some cute patterns, one from Donnu Vermillion Giampa and another from The Sweetheart Tree, and linen, one is silver and the other is a Solo from Silkweaver, totally awesome! And last but not least a whole boatload of handdyed threads :-D Stranded By The Sea, Six Strand Sweets og Needle Necessities threads. Like I told Linda in my thank you email, I'm going to have so much fun playing with those fibers :-D

Again, thank you so much Linda for the present. I'm going to enjoy them for a long time :-)

Redwork

Jæja, ég hef nú verið að sauma stykkið fyrir Redwork skiptin undanfarin kvöld og náði að klára núna. Mikið rosalega er ég skotin í þessu :-D Flottur litur líka.. En þið verðið að bíða smá með að fá mynd, ég sendi þetta ekki fyrr en í byrjun september sko til eigandans..

Á morgun ætla ég að finna efni til að klára þetta stykki og nota eflaust helgina í það. Ég er að vinna á laugardag en ég hef sunnudaginn til að klárast. Svo er næst á dagskrá Biscornu. Og auðvitað RRinn hennar Eddu :-) Þetta er allt með sendingardag í byrjun september og ég er að verða pínu stressuð. En þetta blessast allt! Ég hef mikla trú á því :-)

Redwork

Well, I've been doing the stitching for the Redwork Exchange on SBEBB these last few nights and managed to finish tonight. I'm very taken with this design and the way it turns out :-D And the color is pretty hot too.. But I'm afraid you guys have to wait a little for a pic since this exchange won't be sent off till Sept. 4th (my moms birthday!)..

Tomorrow I'm going to find a fabric to finish this piece and I'll probably use the weekend for that. I am working on saturday but have sunday for finishing stuff. And next up is the Biscornu for the Icelandic exchange and of course there is Edda's RR piece :-) This all has a deadline for the beginning of september and I'm starting to feel a little stressed out. But I'm confident things will be ok! I'm a believer :-)

Monthly Bits

Monthly Bits

I got my monthly bits in the mail today and am so happy. Very fierce colors (I've been watching too much ANTM with Tyra Banks, she's obsessed with the word fierce) and I may even see some that I might use for the Biscornu I've talked about. And even a beautiful color for the Redwork Exchange.. Maybe ;-) I'm not going to point them out specially, you'll just see the finished product in september :-D

Drekinn flýgur á morgun

Til hennar Eddu :-) Mér tókst að klára afturstinginn í kvöld og ég er svo ánægð með það. Ég er komin með RRinn hennar Eddu í hendurnar (fyrir viku meira að segja) og mun byrja á honum von bráðar. Hennar þema eru póstkortin frá Passione Ricamo sem voru gefins hérna í eina tíð en ekki lengur. Ég held meira að segja að einhver þessara munstra séu búin að koma í bresku útsaumsblöðunum (World of Cross Stitching held ég, er ekki viss samt) og restin komi á þessu ári. Ég var aðeins búin að kíkja á efnið og sýnist að ég geri haustpóstkortið. Hin eru öll saumuð og þetta er voða fínt. Ég hlakka til að byrja á því :-) Svo þarf ég að gefa mér tíma í Biscornu púða og Redwork skiptin en ég er byrjuð á hvorugu! :-/ Spurning að fara að koma sér að verki!

The dragon takes flight tomorrow

To Edda :-) I managed to finish the backstitching tonight and I'm so happy it's done. I've already got Edda's RR in my hands (it arrived about a week ago) and I'm starting that one next. Her theme is Passione Ricamo's seasonal postcards that were freebie's a while ago but not anymore. I think they're being published in one of the british cross stitch mags (World of Cross Stitching I think, but I'm not sure) this year and one or two are already out there. I took a little peek at Edda's RR and it seems to me I will be stitching autumn postcard. The others are all stitched up and it looks great. I'm looking forward to starting that one :-) And I have the Biscornu to do as well as the redwork exchange but I haven't started either one! :-/ I might wanna get going on those!

Ein gjöf í viðbót

Jamm, ég er sko lukkunnar pamfíll þessa dagana. Ég fékk einn pakka frá dömu úr afmælisleiknum í vikunni og hann var sko ekkert slor. Edda gaf mér Snowdays frá Mirabilia og Potpourri hearts frá Sweetheart Tree og silkigarn. Virkilega flott og ég er orðlaus. Hún fann þetta á óskalistanum mínum og ég sé að það er bara sniðugt að hafa svona óskalista til að leiðbeina fólki hvernig smekk maður hefur. Annars er voða auðvelt að gleðja mig :-)

Ég hef ekki verið í miklu saumastuði né blogg stuði undanfarna daga en ég er á fullu að vinna í að klára frá mér drekann hennar Hafrúnar (bara afturstingur eftir) og svo fer maður í að byrja á Redwork exchange og Biscornu púða fyrir biscornu skiptin í Allt í Kross klúbbnum.

One more gift

I feel like the luckiest woman on the planet these days. I got another package in the birthday exchange on Allt í Kross and it was from Edda. She gave me Snow Days from Mirabilia and Potpourri Hearts from Sweetheart Tree plus some silks. Really generous and I'm speechless. She found my wishlist and those designs were on there. I see these wishlists are a good way to advise people for things like this, like to show what kinds of designs I like. But it's not very hard to please me :-) I've loved every single thing I've got in this birthday exchange.

I haven't been in a big stitching mood lately and blogging hasn't been high on the list to do either. I am now working on getting Hafrún's RR to the next person on the list (I'm late, I know) and I only have the backstitching left and after that I have the redwork exchange to do on SBEBB and a Biscornu for an exchange on Allt í Kross. Busy busy busy! :-D

Birthday

My birthday was yesterday and I got a boatload of packages in the mail :-) I'm taking part in a birthday game in my online stitchign club Allt í Kross and we're 8 in this group and when one of us has a birthday the others sends her a fun package. And boy did I get a lot of fun packages. I just took pics so you could see for yourselves :-D

I'm so over the moon with all of these gorgous packages and it's not bad to know more is on the way! :-D It's so much fun to have a birthday when you get so many gifts :-D

Vetrardrottningin

Um áramótin skráði ég mig í afmælisleik í Allt í Kross saumagrúppunni þar sem ég geri aldrei neitt mikið úr afmælinu mínu og held t.d. ekki upp á það. Með því að skrá mig í þennan leik ætlaði ég að reyna að gera þennan dag (25. júlí, næsti þriðjudagur) meira spennandi og eftirminnilegan. Jæja, ég fékk fyrsta pakkann (hann er frá Rannveigu Lenu) í póstinum fyrir helgi en ég ætlaði að reyna að vera sterk en auðvitað brotnaði ég saman og opnaði gripinn ;-)

Ég er alveg rosalega sátt við þetta allt. Ótrúlegt en satt, þá er ég ekki búin með súkkulaðið! En ég er langt komin með það ;-) Svo fékk ég garn, maður á aldrei nóg af því, svo er þetta alveg rosalega fallegt efni frá Silkweaver og er Solo þannig að það heitir ekkert en mikið er það fallegt. Aida efnið er fallegt líka og munstrin eru flott. Mér finnst Paula Vaughn gera fallegar myndir, soldið nostalgíulegar en það er flott :-)

Birthday gift

Last December I signed up for the birthday game in my online stitching club, Allt í Kross, because I usually don't make a big deal out of my birthday, f.x. I don't celebrate it. By signing up I was trying to make this day a little more special for me and to have something to look forward to. Well, I got the first package (from Rannveig Lena) right before the weekend and I was planning on staying strong and not open it till tuesday (that's my birthday, the 25th of July)but of course I broke down and opened it ;-)

I'm totally cool with all of the things she gave me. Unbeliavebly I haven't finished the chocolates but I'm halfway there ;-) As you can see I got floss, one can never have enough of that. She also gave me a beautiful Solo from Silkweaver and it's gorgeous. The Aida is a lovely color too and I like the patterns. They're Paula Vaughn patterns and I really like her designs. They're filled with nostalgia but that's just cool :-)

Drekinn

Svona lítur drekinn hennar hafrúnar út eins og er. Það gengur alveg sæmilega að sauma hann, og ég ætti að klára fyrir mánaðarmót. Hann verður afskaplega sætur :-D

Á mánudag gat ég ekki haldið mig frá Vetrardrottningunni og ég hélt áfram að sauma í hana fram eftir degi (frídagur :-D) en ég hélt áfram á sömu svæðum og ég var að sauma í um helgina. Núna, þegar ég get setið og saumað svona stór svæði með einum lit, þá finnst mér ganga miklu betur en áður. Mér finnst svo róandi og ánægjulegt að sauma í hana, ekki að mér hafi þótt hún eitthvað leiðinleg áður, en mér fannst hún bara ekki ganga nógu vel. Öfugt við núna. Svo er það kannski ákveðin tilbreyting að sauma svona stór svæði með einum lit, RR stykkin hafa nú ekki verið mikið svoleiðis sem ég hef verið með. Tebollinn var náttúrulega Stoney Creek þannig að þar lá við að litaskiptin væru eftir hvert spor. Drekinn er kannski ekki jafn slæmur, en ekki er hann einlitur ;-D Annars finnst mér bara gaman að sauma hann. Ég sauma ekki svona myndir venjulega og kannski er það ákveðin tilbreyting að sauma dreka.

The Dragon

This is how Hafrun's dragon looks like now. It's coming along very nicely, and I should be finished before the end of the month. It's going to be so cute :-D

On monday I couldn't keep myself away from the Winter Queen and I kept stitching on her into the afternoon (I had a day off :-D) but I kept to those areas I was working on this weekend. Now when I've been stitching these big areas with only one color at times, I find that she's coming along much faster than before. I find it so soothing and pleasurable to stitch on her, not that she wasn't before, I just felt she wasn't going fast enough. Opposite from now. So maybe it's a certain change to stitch such big areas with one color, the RR's haven't exactly provided that enjoyment for me. The teacup was of course from Stoney Creek so there it seemed that the colors changed with every stitch. The dragon isn't as bad in that department, but he's not only in one color ;-D But I do like stitching him. I don't usually do this type of design so it's also a change of pace for me.

Júlí Stitch-a-thon

Ótrúlegt hvað tíminn flýgur áfram! Þessi helgi var Stitch-a-thon helgin á Friends Gather BB og þá velur maður sér eitt verkefni og vinnur með það alla helgina og tekur svo mynd af árangrinum (til að bera saman við myndina sem maður tók fyrir helgina :-D ). Ég ákvað að vinna með Vetrardrottninguna eins og alltaf áður held ég, en eitthvað fór lítið fyrir saumaskapnum á föstudagskvöld, ég var svo þreytt þá að ég sofnaði áður en ég náði að setja inn "fyrir" mynd á Friends Gather, hvað þá að ég næði að sauma í hana. Svo var ég auðvitað að vinna um helgina (hvað annað) þannig að ekki saumaði ég mikið á hana á laugardaginn en í gær sat ég og sat og saumaði og saumaði langt fram á nóttu. Var að horfa á Sin City líka í DVD spilaranum. Ágætis skemmtun það, hélt mér fanginni til að ganga 3 í nótt :-) Og það besta var að ég gat auðveldlega saumað með og svei mér ef ég hef ekki bara náð ágætis árangri með drottninguna mína. Hún er reyndar orðin alltof stór núna fyrir Q-snapið mitt en ég reyndi að ná mynd af henni allri í þetta skiptið.

Er hún ekki flott? :-D

July Stitch-a-thon

Unbelievable how time flies! This weekend was Stitch-a-thon weekend on Friends Gather BB and then you chose a project to work on all weekend long and then take a picture of the progress you made (to compare to the before photo you took at the beginning of the weekend :-D ). I decided to work on my Winter Queen as I've done always before but there wasn't much work done on friday night, I was so tired then I fell asleep long before I managed to post the before photo to the forum, much less stitch on it. And I was working all weekend (what else) so I didn't stitch an awful lot on her on saturday but yesterday I sat and sat after work and stitched and stitched long into the night. I watched Sin City also on the DVD player. It was good entertainment, held me captive till around 3 am :-) The best thing was I could easily stitch as well as listening to it and looking up when the most important parts were taking place. I do believe I made good progress on the Winter Queen. She's gotten way to big for the Q-snap now but I did try and get a photo of all of her this time.

Vöggusettið

Hér kemur mynd af vöggusettinu sem ég hef nokkrum sinnum minnst á hérna á blogginu.

Þetta er alveg hörmuleg mynd, birtan sem kom inn um gluggann gerði litina alveg hræðilega og ég reyndi að breyta þeim í forritinu sem ég minnkaði myndina í en ekki skánaði það nú mikið við það.. En þetta er vonandi í lagi, þið sjáið þó rósina :-) Þ.e. ef þið klikkið á myndina og sjáið hana í stærri útgáfu.

Ég er ekki alveg búin með þennan borða en það á eftir að koma rós vinstra megin við stafina og eitthvað aðeins meir. Litirnir sem ég valdi eru grænir og appelsínugulir, þar sem ekki er vitað hvers kyns barnið verður (ég held að foreldrarnir vilji ekki vita það, a.m.k. hafa þau ekki sagt neinum frá). Þetta er svona gobelin spor og mjög fljótlegt að sauma þegar maður gefur sér tíma í að sauma það.

The crib set

I've mentioned this crib set a couple of times on this blog so I thought I'd post a pic of it. It's a horrible picture, the light from outside turned the colors into something horrible and I was trying to fix it in the program I use and it didn't do much good.. I hope it's ok, at least you can see the rose :-) That is if you click on the pic, it takes you to a larger version of it.

I'm not quite done with this piece, it's missing a rose on the left of the lettering (which says Sleep Tight in Icelandic) and other stuff. The colors are green and orange because noone knows the sex of the baby (I don't think the parents know, at least they haven't told anyone). This is called gobelin and it's done on hardanger fabric. It's very quick to stitch once you give yourself time to do it.

24 tíma áskorun

Þessa helgi var 24hr Challenge á Friends Gather BB eins og áður sagði og ég ákvað að byrja á RR-num hennar Hafrúnar, og fann voða sætan dreka á netinu sem ég ákvað að sauma. Hann er freebie frá Dragon Dreams og munstrið heitir MY treasures. Ég náði ekki að klára myndina á þessum 24 tímum en ég náði að gera heilan helling og er bara þokkalega ánægð með árangurinn.

24hr Challenge

This weekend was reserved for the 24hr Challenge on Friends Gather BB like I said before and I decided to start Hafrun's RR, and I found the cutest dragon online that I decided to stitch on her RR piece. It's a freebie from Dragon Dreams and the pattern is called MY treasures. I didn't finish it in those 24 hours but I did make a considerable start and am really pleased with the results.

Joy jólaskraut

Ég byrjaði í vikunni á jólaskrauti þar sem mig langaði til að klára eitthvað lítið og sætt áður en næsti RR kæmi og ég færi að vinna í honum. Vegna anna náði ég ekki að klára jólaskrautið fyrr en í dag en ég er svakalega ánægð með það. Ég á reyndar eftir að "klára" klára :-D Þetta verður svona mini nálarúlla eins og Love Ornament sem ég gerði í Janúar eftir sama hönnuð, Jeannette Douglas. Munstrið var í Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue frá árinu 2003 og ég fór alveg eftir uppgefnum upplýsingum, þ.e. ég notaði það garn og efni sem mælt var með í blaðinu. Þetta er saumað á 28ct latte Country French linen með Needle Necessities garni (græni er liturinn sem Danielle gaf mér í jólaskrautsskiptunum í fyrra :-D ),Kreinik Braid sem er handlituð af Needle Necessities (rosalega sniðugt), Kreinik blending filament, GAST, DMC árórugarni sem og perlugarni og Mill Hill perlum. Soldið langur listi fyrir ekki stærra skraut :-D

Ég er virkilega ánægð með útkomuna en mér fannst ansi leiðinlegt að sauma með Kreinik Blending filamentinu enda gleymdi ég að nota Thread Heaven! :-( En það kennir mér bara að nota það næst :-)

Næsta mál á dagskrá er að finna dreka fyrir RR-inn hennar Hafrúnar og svo er þessi helgi 24hr Challenge á Friends Gather BB og ég ætla að taka þátt. Kannski ég nái að finna dreka sem passar við RR-inn og slá þannig tvær flugur í einu höggi :-)

Joy ornament

I started this ornament this week because I wanted to finish something small and cute before the next RR would arrive. Because of other stuff I didn't finish it till today but I'm extremely happy with it. I do have to actually "finish" it as a needleroll :-D It's like the Love ornament I made in January by the same designer, Jeannette Douglas. The pattern was in Just Cross Stitch ornament issue from 2003 and I followed the recommendations for fibers and fabric. It's done on 28ct latte Country French linen with Needle Necessities floss (The green one is a gift from Danielle from last years Ornament Exchange on SBEBB :-D), Kreinik braid overdyed by Needle Necessities (very interesting), Kreinik Blending filament, GAST, DMC floss and DMC perle coton as well as Mill Hill beads. That's quite a list for such a small ornament :-D

I'm really pleased with the results but I did find it very boring to work with the Kreinik BF, probably because I forgot to use Thread Heaven! :-( But this teaches me to not forget next time :-)

Next on my agenda is to find a dragon for Hafrun's RR and this weekend is the 24hr Challenge on Friends Gather BB and I'm taking part. Maybe I'll find a dragon that fits the RR and will be able to hit two birds with one stone :-) or something like that :-D

Goals for July

In June I finished Mill Hill's Woodland Grace as well as one of their Charmed Mitten series, Patchwork Holiday. I did finish the RR a little late but it's off to it's next destination now. I made considerable progress on the Winter Queen and the crib set did get a little attention even if it wasn't a whole lot.

July is going to be busy, not only on the stitching front but at work too. I just hope I'll have enough energy when I get home to stitch something. I'm going to try and stitch at least an hour a day. That way I may get some progress done on the things I've got going. Like the Margaret Sherry SAL, 12 days of Christmas. It's been on the backburner for ages now.

Round Robin loksins búinn

Ég skammast mín fyrir að vera svona lengi með þennan Round Robin en mín ömurlega afsökun er sú að ég var svo þreytt um helgina að ég náði ekki að sauma neitt af viti í hann og þess vegna er ég fyrst núna að klára hann. Ég fer beina leið á pósthúsið um leið og ég er búin að pósta þessari færslu.

En mikið rosalega er tebollinn fallegur.. Ég held ég nenni samt ekki að sauma hann aftur, en það var gaman að sauma hann samt og ekki skemmir hvað hann er sætur svona tilbúinn :-)

The Round Robin is finally finished

I'm really ashamed of how long it's taken me to finish this Round Robin, but my pitiful excuse is that I was so tired over the weekend (12 hr shift and waking up before dawn (if the sun would have set ;-D) drains my crafty good intentions) and so I just finished all the backstitching just now and as soon as this post is published I'm going to the post office to send it off to Edda who's next to stitch a teacup on it.

But it's amazing how beautiful this teacup is.. I don't think I'll ever stitch it again but it was fun to stitch and it doesn't hurt that it's so pretty :-)

Monthly Bits

Ég var að fá Monthly bits sendinguna í dag og mikið rosalega er ég ánægð með litina sem komu, ég er nefnilega ansi hrifin af rauðum litum þó ég eigi fá hluti sem eru þannig á litinn. Svo var ég að skrá mig í Redwork Exchange á SBEBB og þessir litir koma margir vel til greina þar :-) Svo eru nöfnin á þeim alltaf jafn flott, það er Vampire's Kiss, Bush Fire, Poppy og Crab Cakes. Ég elska hugmyndaflugið hjá þeim sem nefna litina :-D

Svo er WDW garnið ekkert smá flott líka :-)

Monthly bits

I just got the Montly bits in the mail and I just love the colors chosen, I actually like red colors alot even though I own very few things that are reddish in color. And because I just signed up for the Redwork exchange on SBEBB these colors may come in handy when choosing a design :-) And I just adore the names of these hand-dyed threads, these have names like Vampire's Kiss, Bush Fire, Poppy and Crab Cakes. Wonderful imagination of the folks that come up with these names :-D

And the WDW threads are awesome too :-)

And while I remember Happy 4th of July to you Americans that read this blog :-D

Næstum búin með tebollann plús kisinn úr 12 dögum jóla.

Það er líka það eina sem kemst að þessa dagana :-D Reyndar hef ég verið soldið þreytt undanfarna tvo þrjá daga og ekki saumað mikið. Og ég er að vinna um helgina (sem er fúlt þar sem þetta er Humarhátíðarhelgin) en ég sé fram á að klára afturstinginn á morgun eftir vinnu og þá sendi ég þennan RR frá mér á mánudag og fæ vonandi nýjan fljótlega upp úr því.

Ég á bara afturstinginn eftir, en í dag var voða góður dagur og ég kláraði alla krossa, líka með gullna þráðnum (DMC 5282). Mikið finnst mér samt leiðinlegt að sauma með honum :-( En með Thread Heaven var það næstum bærilegt ;-) og þessi þráður gerir rosalega mikið fyrir myndina.

Svo langar mig að sýna afspyrnu lélegan árangur minn í Degi 5 úr 12 dögum jóla sem Margaret Sherry hannaði fyrir jólin seinustu. Það er mest gert í þeim tilgangi að ég fái nógu mikið samviskubit og byrji að sauma af fullum krafti :-D Það má reyna það.. Alla vegana, þetta er bara skottið af greyinu sem ég er búin með :-D

Almost done with the teacup and the cat from 12 days of Christmas

And it's the only thing that's getting any attention these days (stitching wise) :-D I've been kinda tired lately and haven't stitched much. And I'm working this weekend (which sucks coz it's the weekend of a yearly festival type of thing in my hometown and loads of things will be going on) but I'm forecasting a happy dance tomorrow after work coz I only have the backstitching left to do. That means I'll send this RR off on monday and hopefully get a new one soon after that.

Like I said I only have the backstitching left to do, today was a good day and I finished all crosses including the ones with gold metallic thread (DMC 5282). I must say I find it very boring to stitch with :-( but with Thread Heaven it's almost bearable ;-) and it does do a lot for this design.

Last but not least I want to show my lack of progress on Day 5 of the 12 days of Christmas that Margaret Sherry designed before last christmas. This is done in an effort to make me feel bad about the abandonment of this project and get me to start stitching on it full steam ahead :-D Well, a girl can try.. Anyways, this is just the tail of the cat that you see there. Not much progress here.

Ég er að reyna að klára þennan RR af fyrir mánaðarmót. Ég ætla að reyna að senda hann af stað fyrir helgi annars verður það á mánudag. Eins og sést er ekkert svo voðalega mikið eftir, eitt blóm, smá skuggar og gyllingin. Já og auðvitað afturstingurinn. Þetta verður voðalega falleg mynd.

I'm still doing the teacup

I'm trying to finish this RR off before the first of July. I'm going to try and send it off before the weekend, monday by the latest. As you can see there's not much left, one pansy, a little shadowing and the golden stuff. Plus the backstitching. It's going to be a very beautiful picture.

Tebollinn hennar Svandísar

Þetta er voðalega fallegt munstur sem hún Svandís valdi fyrir RR-inn sinn. Eins og ég sagði síðast þá valdi ég að gera fjórða bollann sem er með stjúpumunstri og þá sagði ég víst líka að ég ætlaði að klára hvíta áður en ég byrjaði á litadýrðinni í blómunum.. Jæja, þetta entist ekki lengi, ég var svo áfjáð í að vita hvernig blómin yrðu að ég byrjaði í morgun á þeim. Og sé ekki eftir því! Það er æðislegt hvað litadýrðin í þeim gera mikið fyrir munstrið. Og litasamsetningin er frábær. Þó ég sé engin aðdáandi þess að gera svona confetti spor þá kemur rosalega vel út að hafa þetta svona. Mér skilst að Stoney Creek munstur séu mikið í þessari deildinni, að hafa mikil litaskipti.

The teacup RR

Svandís is the owner of this RR I'm stitching on and she chose a very beautiful pattern for her RR. Like I said last time I chose to stitch the fourth teacup which has pansies on it and then I also said I was going to finish the white stitches before moving on to the flowers.. Well, that little promise was broken this morning when I began stitching the pink pansy. And I don't regret doing those two! It amazing what the color changes in them do for the design. And the color choices of the designer is awesome too. Even though I'm no fan of confetti stitches like this (even if this is a mild case of it) I like the effect of it. I just don't like stitching it! I understand Stoney Creek does this alot.

Stitch-A-Thon og Vetrardrottningin

Jæja, þá er komið að því að sýna árangur þessarar helgar. Ég er búin að vera afskaplega dugleg að eigin mati og hef haft mjög gaman af því að sauma í Vetrardrottninguna fallegu. Svei mér þá, kannski ég fari bara að taka hana upp á öðrum dögum en hátíðisdögum ;-D

Þessi helgi var sem sagt Stitch-A-Thon helgi á Friends Gather og ég valdi að sauma í Vetrardrottninguna, enda eru þetta næstum einu skiptin sem ég sauma í greyið. T.d. saumaði ég seinast í hana þegar ég tók seinast þátt í Stitch-A-Thon í apríl.. Jamm, svo sannarlega kominn tími til að taka sér tak og sauma í henni.

Stitch-A-Thon and Winter Queen

Well, it's time to show the progress of this weekend. I've made considerable progress, at least I think so and I've had so much fun stitching on my beautiful Winter Queen. Who knows, I may even start working on her some more on a regular basis ;-D

This weekend was theStitch-A-Thon weekend on Friends Gather and I chose to work on Winter Queen, it seems this is the only time I do work on the poor thing. For example I last worked on her the last time I participated in Stitch-A-Thon in april.. Yeah, it was more than time for me to pick her up and work on her.

Ég er bara í stuði :-D

Eftir að ég kláraði Woodland Grace í gær langaði mig til að halda áfram að perlast og sauma í pappa þannig að ég fann Mill Hill kit sem ég byrjaði á fyrir jólin 2005 og ákvað að sauma aðeins í því. Þetta er svona Charmed Mitten sem heitir Patchwork Holiday. Mér finnst hann bara nokkuð sætur :-D

Ég er búin að vera eins og andsetin í dag og í gær, sat og saumaði (guði sé lof að ég var í fríi í vinnunni :-D ) og náði að klára blessaðan vettlinginn núna áðan.

Um helgina er Stitch-A-Thon á Friends Gather BB og ég ætla að taka þátt. Reyndar byrjar þetta í dag þannig að núna þegar vettlingurinn er búinn get ég farið að sauma í Vetrardrottninguna mína sem hefur ekki fengið athygli síðan í apríl! Apríl!!! Ég skammast mín þvílíkt en þetta hefur allt sínar skýringar :-) En samt.. Apríl... Ég er mest hissa á að Drottningin skuli láta mig koma svona fram við hana!

Another finish!

After I finished Woodland Grace yesterday I still felt like doing beads and stitching on perforated paper so I brought out a little Mill Hill kit I had actually started around christmas time last year but never finished (didn't get that far with it either). It's a Charmed Mitten kit called Patchwork Holiday. I think it's kinda cute :-D

It's like I've been possessed yesterday and today, I've just sat and stitched (thank goodness I had these days off work :-D ) and just now I've managed to finish this little mitten.

This weekend is Stitch-A-Thon on Friends Gather BB and I'm going to participate. It actually starts today so now that I've finished the mitten I can start stitching on my Winter Queen that hasn't had any attention since april! April!! I'm so embarrassed for this but it's all easily explained :-) But still, April... I'm mostly shocked that the Queen is allowing me to treat her like this!

Ég kláraði hana í dag :-D Það var svo lítið eftir að ég hugsaði með mér að ég skyldi bara klára hana enda er orðið svo langt síðan ég kláraði eitthvað að ég þurfti þess sko með að fá að finna þessa tilfinningu aftur :-D

Hún er svo sæt!! Ég er mikið að spá í að kaupa rammann sem hún er sýnd í framan á pakkningunni af því mér finnst hann svo sætur. En ég er auðvitað í innkaupastraffi þannig að ég verð að bíða með það aðeins.

Ps. Sonja, takk fyrir ábendingarnar :-) Ég fann loksins þessar blessuðu perlur sem áttu að vera í vængjunum. Mikið voru þær samt vel faldar!

Woodland Grace is finished!!

I put the final beads in her today and the lovely button too :-) There was just so little left to do that I thought to myself that I should just finish her since there's been so long since I finished anything and I really needed to feel this feeling of accomplishment again :-D

She's just so cute!! I've been thinking about buying the frame that she's shown in on the cover of the kit because I just think that's so cute. But because I'm on the wagon that order just has to wait a while.

Ps. Sonja, thanks for the tips. I finally found the ice pink beads. They were very well hidden!

Woodland Grace 8

Ég hef lítið saumað í dag, ég er þreytt eftir helgina og verð ekkert smá fegin að komast í smá frí eftir vinnu á morgun. En ég setti nokkrar perlur í tréð vinstra megin við engilinn í dag, hitt var allt gert fyrri part seinustu viku. Ég viðurkenni að nú langar mig mest til að sitja bara með þessa mynd þangað til hún klárast :-D Mikið hlakkar mig til að sjá hana fullkláraða :-D

Það er samt eitt sem pirrar mig, í vængjunum á englinum eiga að vera perlur sem eru ice pink að lit og ég bara finn þessar blessuðu perlur ekki. Mér sýnist allar litlu perlurnar vera bara glærar!?! Ég sé ekkert bleikt við neina þeirra og er ég nú samt búin að reyna að sjá eitthvað bleikt í þeim. Eina sem ég sé er endurkast af rauðu perlunum... Ætli það endi ekki bara með því að ég setji glærar perlur í blessaða vængina. Ég nenni varla að stressa mig mikið meira á þessu en komið er!

Woodland Grace 8

I haven't done much stitching today, I'm a bit tired after the weekend and will be so happy when I get my days off after work tomorrow. But I did put a few beads into the tree on the left side of the angel today, the other work that has been done since last update was done in the beginning of last week. I must admit that I really just want to sit and stitch on this till it gets done :-D I can't wait to see it all done :-D

There's just one thing that's been bothering me, the wings are supposed to have beads that are ice pink in color (according to the key) but I just can't see those darn beads. It seems to me that all the small beads are just simply clear (or crystal like it says in the key)!?! I can't see anything pink about them except when the red beads are reflected in them and believe me, I've been trying hard to find these supposed pink beads... I may end up having clear (or crystal) beads in the wings of my angel. I don't want to fuss over this more than I already have!

Jæja, ég lofaði mynd og þó hún sé ekkert spennandi þá fáiði mynd af RR-inum sem ég byrjaði á um helgina. Ég ákvað að byrja á hvítu krossunum og reyna að klára þá af áður en ég fer í litadýrðina :-D Svo stóðst ég ekki mátið að gera gráa til að sjá hvernig þetta kemur út, svona skuggaáferð. Svaka flott.

Þetta var líka það sem ég ákvað að sauma í í tilefni 24hr Challenge á Friends Gather en að sjálfsögðu náði ég ekki að klára allan bollann á 24 tímum. Enda var ég að vinna í gær og í dag. Svo sofnaði ég aðeins eftir vinnu í dag þannig að ekki voru mörg sporin sem voru tekin þá ;-D En ég vildi vera með af því ég var ekki í stuði í seinasta mánuði og mér finnst einhvern veginn hvatning í því að vita að víðs vegar um heiminn eru konur sem eru að sauma lítil verkefni á svipuðum tíma og ég og við erum allar að reyna að klára verkefnin á þessum 24 tímum. Það er gaman að finnast maður vera hluti af heild þó það sé soldið langt á milli þeirra sem tilheyra þessari heild :-)

Tecup

Well, I promised a picture and even if it's not terribly exciting you get a pic of the RR I started this weekend. I decided to start with the white crosses and try and finish them before I start with the colors :-D But then I couldn't resist doing the grey bits just to see how the shading looks. Very cool I think.

This was also the project I chose to do in the 24hr Challenge on Friends Gather BB but of course I didn't manage to finish the whole design in 24hrs. After all I was working yesterday and today and after work today I fell asleep a little so no stitches were done during that period ;-D but I wanted to join the ladies of this SAL coz I wasn't in the mood to stitch last month and it's a weird kind of inspiration to know that all around the globe there are ladies stitching small projects at the same time as me and we're all trying to finish them in a 24 hr period. It's fun to feel a part of a whole even if there's quite an amount of distance between each individual in this whole :-)

Ég ákvað að pósta hér inn og aðeins að láta vita af mér. Ég hef verið að vinna síðastliðna daga þannig að ég hef lítið saumað en ég hef samt náð að gera helling í perlunum á Woodland Grace SAL-inu, ég set inn mynd á mánudag af því ;-)

Svo fékk ég á fimmtudag RR í Hör/Evenweave RR-num sem ég er í í Allt í Kross. Ég er aðeins byrjuð á því verkefni. Þessi RR er með tebollaþema og það fylgir munstur. Munstrið er Teacup Sampler frá Stoney Creek. Virkilega falleg mynd og yndislegir tebollar. Ég valdi að gera þann með stjúpunum á, hann er litríkastur og að mínu mati fallegastur. En það eru líka hellings litaskipti í honum og ég vona bara að ég nái að klára fyrir sendingardaginn sem er 1. júlí. Ég tók enga mynd af þessu því ég er búin með það lítið og ég er bara búin að gera smá hvítt og grátt sem er ekki spennandi myndefni.

It's been awhile

I decided to post an update without pics just to let you guys know I'm still alive. I've been working these last few days so I haven't stitched much but I have made some progress with the beading on Woodland Grace SAL, I'll post a pic on monday ;-)
This thursday I got the next RR in the Linen/Evenweave RR I'm in in the Allt í Kross yahoo group. I've started that one just a little. This RR has a teacup theme and it's got a pattern sent along. It's the Teacup Sampler from Stoney Creek. Very pretty pattern and lovely tea cups. I chose to do the one with the pansies, it's the most colorful and in my opinion the most beautiful. But it's also got plenty of color changes so I just hope I'll be able to make the July 1st send off date. I'm not posting a pic of this project coz I've only done white and grey so far and that doesn't make for very exciting pictures.

Well, I'll see you guys again when I've got some pics to post :-)

Woodland Grace 7. færsla

Jæja, ég er öll að koma til í saumaskapnum :-) Og eins og titill færslunnar gefur til kynna er þessi póstur uppfærsla á Woodland Grace SAL sem ég er að gera með Sonju.

Seinast þegar ég uppfærði var ég að vinna í krossunum og núna er ég byrjuð í perlunum :-) Það eru nú ekki alveg allir krossar búnir, ég sá þegar ég var að perla trén að ég hef sums staðar missést táknin og þar af leiðir vantar nokkra krossa og svo sé ég líka að það vantar í kjólinn eitt spor en þetta er enn verk í vinnslu svo að ég er ekkert að stressa mig á þessu :-) Ég nýt þess bara að sauma í þessu verkefni!

Woodland Grace SAL update nr. 7

Well, things are all progressing in the right direction, stitching-wise that is :-) As the title of this post suggest this is a post on my progress on the Woodland Grace SAL I'm doing with Sonja.

Last time I updated I was working on finishing all the cross stitches and now I've managed to start the beading :-) I noticed when I was beading the trees that I missed a few crosses here and there and the dress is also missing a stitch or two But this is a WIP still so no pressure :-) Things will get done eventually. Right now I'm just enjoying this project!

Það er alveg einstaklega auðvelt að fara yfir maímarkmiðin mín þar sem ég gerði ekki nokkurn skapaðan hlut af því sem ég vildi gera. Nema auðvitað að senda Biscornu púðann minn af stað. Ég lenti þarna í all svakalegu saumaóstuði og þess vegna var maímánuður svona afkastalítill.

June Goals

It's easy to review my May goals. I didn't do any of those things, except the Biscornu exchange. Well, and I did stitch my friends birthday present, but that's it.

I'm slowly getting into the swing of things and hopefully I'll be into my rotation before too long. Until then I'm just going to try and enjoy my stitching and have fun with it. The goals I posted are just goals, no pressure if it doesn't get done. Besides the RR I signed up for. That's the only obligation stitching I have on the list. Next week I'll probably be getting the next piece and that is a priority but besides that I'll just stitch whatever takes my fancy :-D Who knows, I may even finish some stuff while doing so :-D

Loksins tókst mér að klára afturstinginn á blessuðu Round Robin stykkinu mínu fyrir hör/evenweave RR í Allt í Kross klúbbnum. Mikið rosalega var þetta erfið fæðing! Ég hélt á tímabili að ég myndi aldrei ná þessu en ég átti að senda hann frá mér á fimmtudaginn síðastliðinn. Sem betur fer eru konurnar sem ég er með í þessum RR voðalega skilningsríkar og sú sem fær hann næst gaf mér leyfi til að hafa hann fram yfir helgi svo ég næði að klára afturstinginn. Sem tókst svo í gærkvöldi :-) En þar sem mánudagurinn er frídagur hérna þá fer þessi RR í ferðalagið sitt á þriðjudag.

Ég fékk hugmyndina að nota þetta munstur frá seinasta RR sem ég tók þátt í í Allt í Kross grúppunni. Þar var ein sem notaði þetta munstur og ég kolféll fyrir því :-)

Round Robin

I finally managed to finish the backstitching on the Round Robin I'm doing with 3 other ladies in Allt í Kross yahoo group. It was such a hardship to do this backstitching! I was convinced for a while that it would never get done. I was supposed to send it off on thursday but fortunately the ladies in this RR group are very understanding and the one who'll receive it was kind enough to let me keep it for the weekend so this would get done. And it did get done last night :-) But since monday is a holiday here this RR is going on it's trip tuesday morning.

Some of you may remember seeing a pic of this design on my blog from last summer. I was involved in a beginner's Round Robin on Allt í Kross group last summer and one of the ladies had this design for her theme. I totally fell for it and now I'm using it for my RR :-D

Biscornu frá Cathy

Ég fékk voða fínan pakka í dag frá Ástralíu. Póstkonan kom meira að segja með pakkann bara heim til mín, frábær þjónusta :-) Í pakkanum var Biscornu púði sem Cathy saumaði handa mér. Ég á ekki til orð, mér finnst hann svo flottur, og þar sem hún saumaði fram og bakhliðina saman setti hún perlur og það kemur svo flott út! Algert æði bara. Svo sendi hún útsaumsgarn með, annað sem er handlitað af ástralskri konu sem heitir Melanie og hitt er Silk N' Colors, algert æði. Og eins og það væri ekki nóg sendi hún líka með efni frá Kiwi Illusions og litla prjóna sem ég ætla að gera eitthvað flott við :-)

Og sjáiði kortið sem hún sendi með. Ég gat ekki annað en hlegið þegar ég sá kisuna reyna að opna hurðina.. Alveg frábært kort :-D Ég er alveg í skýjunum með þessi skipti :-)

Biscornu from Cathy

I got this amazing package from Australia in the mail today. The postlady brought it right up to my doorstep, really nice service :-) In the package there was my Biscornu that Cathy made me. I'm speechless, it's so pretty. She stitched it together with beads in the seam and it's so eye-catching, I don't know if you can see it in the pic. It's simply gorgeous. And she didn't stop there, she also sent some fibers and fabric from Kiwi Illusions called Wintergreen. The blue floss is hand-dyed by Melanie and the other one is Silk N' Colors called Mauveberry. Amazing colors. She also sent pins, like the other stuff wasn't enough :-D

And look at the card she included. I love it, I laughed when I saw the kitty trying to open the door.. I love the card :-D I'm so happy with this exchange it's not even funny :-)

My friends birthday is today, her name is Abba (not named after the band, it's short for Arnbjörg), and I really want to give her a shout out on this blog :-)

I'm going over to her house later and while I'm there (munching on cakes and stuff ;-) ) I'm giving her a gift I stitched for her. As soon as she's received it I'll add the pic to this post ;-)

Biscornu

Jenna er búin að fá Biscornu púðana sem ég gerði handa henni og sendi til hennar í seinustu viku :-) Ég er yfirmáta ánægð að hún skuli vera ánægð með þá af því ég var soldið óánægð með útkomuna eins og ég hef sagt áður. Annar var alltof stór og hinn var alltof lítill :-D En ég var ánægð með munstrin, bara sá stóri var allt of stór að mínu mati. Sá litli var með Indigo Rose munstri sem heitir Four Little Hearts og ég hef séð að fleiri notuðu það í þessum skiptum en þeir púðar voru flestir með border utan með þessu munstri sem gerir þá púða aðeins stærri. Bara að ég hefði haft vit á því líka :-D

Í öðrum fréttum þá er ég loksins komin úr saumalægðinni, ekki að fullu samt, en þetta er allt í áttina. Ég er byrjuð á vöggusetti handa frænda mínum sem er að fara að eignast sitt fyrsta barn í haust og svo skráði ég mig í RR í Allt í Kross grúppunni og er á fullu að klára minn ferning af því ég sendi hann af stað þann 1. júní til næstu skvísu á listanum. Ég er ca. 35% búin með hann.

Biscornu exchange

Jenna has received the package I sent her last week :-) I'm just so happy she likes the biscornus I made her. Like I said in my letter to her I wasn't happy with the first biscornu coz it was too big in my opinion, even if I did like the design, and the second one (with the Indigo Rose design Four Little Hearts on both sides) was too small. I've seen others have used that design in this exchange and they've all stitched a border outside the design. I just wish I had thought of that too :-D

In other news I've finally beaten my stitching slump, not quite at a 100% yet though, but it's all in the right direction. I started a crib set for my uncle's firstborn baby that's due in the fall and I also signed up for an RR in Allt í Kross group. I'm busy finishing off my square because it's to be sent off on the first of June. I'm about 35% finished with that.

Afsakið hlé

Ég verð bara að biðjast afsökunar á þessu ófyrirgefanlega hléi á útsendingu undanfarna eina og hálfa viku. Spurning hvort það sé einhver eftir til að lesa þessar setningar :-D Allir farnir annað að finna myndir af saumadóti ;-)

En já, í þessu hléi hef ég gert ýmislegt, aðallega ekkert samt. Ég fór reyndar í bæinn þar sem mér var vinsamlegast bent á það af vinkonum mínum að ég hefði ekkert látið sjá mig í bænum frá í ágúst í fyrra og það var víst óásættanlegt. Sem ég og samþykkti. Þannig að það var brunað í bæinn og farið á Bubba-tónleika og Todmobile ball á Hótel Selfossi. Eða Stelfossi eins og sá staður heitir núna meðal minna vina. Löng saga, en það var sem sagt tösku stolið af vinkonu minni en sem betur fer fengu þjófarnir lítið upp úr krafsinu nema gemsa, meik og eyeliner. Já, og lykla, sem var verra, og hefði mátt sleppa að stela þeim. Taskan fannst aftur.

Þetta er nú það markverðasta sem gerðist. Ég hef ekkert saumað. Ég er opinberlega komin í saumalægð og sér ekki fyrir endann á henni. Það virðist samt hafa lítil áhrif á kaupaæðið.. Sem er soldið skrýtið.. En mér er ekki treystandi til að fara á ONS án þess að setja eitthvað í körfuna (sem ég kaupi síðan ekki því ég má það ekki! Og ég hef ekki efni á því :-D Það er kannski meira það sem stoppar mig). Reyndar gerði ég eina mynd sem ég á eftir að ramma inn og gefa. Engar myndir þar sem manneskjan les þetta blogg eftir því sem ég best veit. Síðan sú mynd kláraðist hef ég ekki haft löngun til að taka upp nál. Ég ætla bara að leyfa þessari lægð að renna sitt skeið, vonandi er þetta bara stutt tímabil.

Sorry for the unexpected absence

I know it's unforgivable to leave without saying anything and I apologize. It will not happen again. Promise. I wonder if anybody still reads this :-D Everybody's gone elsewhere to find pictures of stitching stuff.

In my break from blogging I didn't do much, I went on a pre-weekend trip to Reykjavík (thursday to saturday, only half the weekend, I had work on sunday). My friends pointed it out to me that I hadn't been to visit since the beginning of August last year and that was unacceptable. I agreed and got in my car and drove there. I went to one concert and one dance in Selfoss. My friends bag got stolen with keys and cell phone and beauty products in it. Thankfully she had her plastic fantastic in her pockets, not the bag, so no money was stolen but the stolen housekeys weren't what she bargained for. The bag was found.

I haven't stitched at all lately. I'm officially in a stitching slump which has no end in sight. It does however have no effect on my buying frenzy.. Which is weird.. But I'm not to be trusted to go to an ONS and not put things in the virtual basket (which I don't buy because I'm not allowed yet! And I can't afford :-D Which is more the reason why I empty the basket eventually without buying). I did actually start and finish one design last week but it's a gift so no pics till the receiver has got it. I still have to frame it though and then it's going to it's owner. Since that project I haven't picked up a needle. Have no longing to do so. I think I'm just gonna let this slump take it's course, hopefully it will be a short one.

Monthly Bits

Ég elska að fá þessa pakka í hverjum mánuði :-) Sérstaklega núna þegar ég er komin í verslunarstraff! ;-) Maður þarf að finna gleði í einhverju fyrst maður getur ekki smellt á neitt til að setja í stafrænu körfuna..

En já, ég fékk Monthly Bits í dag og mikið er ég skotin í þessu garni sem kom. Svo heita litirnir allir einhverjum frábærum nöfnum, eins og Sunshine Girl, Sunrise, Daffodil (reyndar tveir sem heita það) og Buttercup. Allt voða vorlegt og sætt. En eina sem ég sé að er að þetta eru allt gulir tónar eins og í seinasta mánuði, ég hefði viljað fá meiri tilbreytingu. Það kemur bara næst.

Monthly Bits

I love getting these in the mail every month :-) Especially now that I'm banned from shopping online! ;-) You have to get your pleasures from somewhere when you can't click on anything to add to the virtual basket..

Well, I got the Monthly Bits today and I love, love, love the flosses that came. And the colors are all called great names, like Sunshine Girl, Sunrise, Daffodil (there were two with that name) and Buttercup. All so springlike and cute. But the only thing is it's they're all mostly yellow tones like last month, I would've liked to have more variation from month to month. I guess there's always next month.

May and goals

It seems I have exactly the same goals for may as I did for april. I think I'm forgetting something but right now I don't remember :-)

Despite me being lazy I've finished the biscornu, actually I've finished two biscornu pillows, and I don't think either one will be good enough. That's usually how I feel about my stitching though, so maybe they're ok. I don't know. I might even send both of them to my recipient just to make up for the inadequateness of each pillow..

Jæja, ég ætlaði að setja þessa mynd inn á bloggið mitt í gærkvöld en þá var bara ekkert netsamband hjá mér þannig að ég ákvað að gera þetta bara í dag :-)

Ég eyddi sem sagt gærdeginum (fyrir og eftir vinnu) í að sauma pokann saman. Af því að ég klippti efnið of lítið þá setti ég blúndu í opið á pokanum svona aðeins til að gera meira úr þessu :-) Svo fann ég þennan líka flotta borða á Egilsstöðum á föstudaginn sem ég fann á mér að yrði frábær með þessari mynd. Ljósblár og sætur eins og blómin :-D

Ég er bara nokkuð stollt, sérstaklega þar sem ég var ekki með neinar ákveðnar leiðbeiningar með fráganginn eða hvernig ætti að bæta blúndunni á. Ég gerði það bara með karpmelluspori (spurning með stafsetningu?) og það kemur bara ágætlega út að mínu mati. Nú er bara að vona að konan sem ætlunin er að fái þennan poka að gjöf sé sama sinnis :-)

Sachet

I was going to post this photo last night but I didn't have any internet connection so those plans were squashed! I just decided to wait till today to do it :-)

I spent yesterday (before and after work) sewing this sachet together. Because I cut the fabric a little too small I decided to put a lace in the opening to make it a little bigger :-) And I found the cutest ribbon while I was in Egilsstaðir on friday that I just knew would look lovely with the blue lavender flowers in the design :-D

I'm kinda proud of this, coz I didn't have any directions for the finishing or adding the lace. I added the lace with a buttonhole-stitch and it worked like a charm. I think it looks good at least, I hope the lady I made this for feels the same way :-)

Ákvarðanir, ákvarðanir

Ég hef enga mynd til að monta mig af í dag. Ég hef ekki saumað síðan á miðvikudag, en þá kláraði ég framhliðina á biscornu púðanum sem ég held að ég sé að fara að senda til útlanda 15. maí. Ég segi held af því að ég hef farið að efast um litavalið í þessum púða. Manneskjan sem fær hann taldi upp nokkra liti í umsögninni um sig og sá sem ég valdi er ekki einn af uppáhaldslitum hennar. Þetta er samt rosalega flott og kemur vel út, en ég á garn í uppáhaldslitnum hennar sem kæmi rosalega vel út í þessu munstri, en þá á annað efni. Þetta er erfitt líf ;-) ef allar ákvarðanir væru nú svona auðveldar :-D

Svo fer að líða að næsta afmæli í afmælisleiknum góða í Allt í Kross grúppunni. Það hefur verið aðeins spáð og spekúlerað hvað henti best í það og svei mér þá ef ég er ekki næstum búin að ákveða gjöfina :-)

Ég hef líka ákveðið eitt. Ég er komin í verslunarstraff! Ekkert saumadót þar til á afmælinu mínu, 25. júlí. Undantekningarnar eru Monthly bits og Silkweaver FOTM (ef ég held áfram í honum) og ef það vantar eitthvað fyrir skipti og gjafir. Sem verður sennilega ekkert þar sem ég er bara skráð í biscornu skiptin og ég á efnið í það (ef ég ákveð að skipta um lit). Ég held líka að ég sé í góðum málum í sambandi við afmælisleikinn.

Jæja, þetta hafa verið nokkur brot af hugsunum mínum síðastliðna daga. Vonandi höfðuð þið gaman af ef þið komust svona langt :-)

Decisions, decisions

I don't have any photos to brag about today. In fact I haven't stitched since wednesday when I put the last stitches into the biscornu for the exchange that I think is going to be sent off on May 15th. I say that because I'm starting to doubt my color choice for this eight-corner pillow. The person who's this is done for has listed some fav colors in her description of herself and the color I chose isn't one of them. I still think this is a great color and it looks great on the fabric and in the design, but I have a skein in my stash that's in her fav color and it would be great too in this design. It would have to be on another fabric though. It's a hard life ;-) I wish all my decisions were that easy :-D

It's getting closer to the next birthday in the birthday exchange in the yahoo club, Allt í Kross. I've been thinking and trying to decide what the birthday girl would like. I wouldn't be surprised if I've already decided on the gift :-)

Speaking of decisions.. I'm on the wagon! I'm not buying anything stitching related till my birthday July 25th. There are a few things this doesn't apply to, like my Monthly Bits and Silkweaver FOTM (if I'm deciding on sticking with it after the change) and if I need something for exchanges or gifts. Which I don't think is relevant since there is only the biscornu and that's taken care of (even if I change colors). Well, there is the Birthday exchange.. But I think I've got that covered too.

UFO þriðjudagur í gær

Ég var harðákveðin að sauma í UFO stykkinu enda voru 2 vikur síðan ég saumaði í henni síðast. Þetta er orðið ansi stopult hjá mér :-/ En jæja, ég settist með hana og saumaði aðeins. Svo fór ég að hugsa um biscornu skiptin á SBEBB sem ég skráði mig í og ákvað að það væri kannski tími til að skoða þau mál aðeins. Þess vegna er ekki mikill munur frá síðustu viku en það var samt eitthvað gert í UFO málum þessa vikuna :-)

UFO tuesday yesterday

I was determined to work on my UFO piece yesterday, there were two weeks since I last picked it up. I'm not as motivated as I used to be :-/ Well, at least I did sit down with it and stitched a bit. Then I started to think about how little time is left to finish the Biscornu for the SBEBB exchange and decided it would be wise to think about those things a little. That's why there isn't much difference from last time I posted a progress report, but at least I did something :-)

I wasn't in much of a stitching mood tonight but I started the other tree by the angel at least. And I just realized how little is left to stitch on this project. There's of course the beads, but it's just the tree, doves and the left border left to stitch. That's not a whole lot.

Vetrardrottningin 11. færsla

Þessa helgina var Stitch-a-thon á Friends Gather BB og ég ákvað að sauma í Vetrardrottningunni í þetta skiptið sem og öll hin. Ég var reyndar að vinna í gær þannig að ég saumaði ekkert þá, en ég saumaði heilan helling á föstudag og svo þónokkuð í dag. Ég elska það hvernig þessi mynd gengur og hvernig hún kemur út.

Ég saumaði í hægri hliðinni á henni og niður úr og svo fór ég bara um allt og fyllti upp í nokkrar eyður og eins og ég sagði, fór út um allt :-D

Hérna er mynd frá í upphafi helgarinnar en ég var víst aðeins búin að sauma frá því seinast að ég setti inn mynd hér. Ekki man ég alveg hvenær það var en ég hef einhvern tímann gripið í hana í byrjun mánaðar held ég. Það var þó ekki mikið sem var komið en hvert spor skiptir máli :-)

Ég vil endilega óska svo allra gleðilegra páska, vonandi eru þeir búnir að vera ykkur öllum góðir :-D

Winter Queen, 11th post

This weekend was Stitch-a-thon weekend on Friends Gather BB and I decided to work on Winter Queen like I've done in the past. I was working yesterday so I didn't do a thing then, but I did do quite a bit on Good friday and a little today too. I love how this is coming along and how it's all coming together.

I worked on her right side and it led me down to the gown and from then I just went all over the place and filled a few gaps and like I said, went all over the place :-D

Here's a pic from the start of the weekend but it seems I stitched a little from the last time I posted a progress pic. I can't remember exactly when that was but it must've been around the beginning of april. There wasn't much that had been done but every stitch counts :-)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful easter holiday and those who don't celebrate easter, I hope they too are having a wonderful weekend :-D

Skeggjaður jólasveinn

Ég fékk í gær Wisper garnið sem mig vantaði fyrir jólaskrautið sem ég ætlaði að sauma og auðvitað byrjaði ég strax á því :-D Þetta jólaskraut heitir Joyful Santa og er hannað af Homespun Elegance. Það var í Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue frá árinu 2004. Þetta er saumað í Ornaments with KarenV SAL sem er á Friends Gather BB. Í hverjum mánuði er valinn hönnuður til að sauma jólaskraut eftir og þetta er í fyrsta skipti sem ég beygi mig undir það :-D Ég hef sennilega svona skrítinn smekk, þó að hann sé að breytast þá er samt ekki allt sem fellur mér í geð.. Sem er kannski bara ágætt :-) Ég hef ekki efni á að falla fyrir mikið fleiri hönnuðum :-D
Mér finnst skeggið á honum svo æðislegt að það hálfa væri nóg! Ég er voða fegin að hafa ákveðið að sauma hann þó ég þyrfti að panta Wisper garnið.

Jólasveinninn er saumaður í 28ct Pearl linen, natural að lit. Græni handlitaði liturinn er frá WDW og heitir Juniper, rauði er frá GAST og er nafnlaus sem og blái í fuglinum. Þessir GAST litir eru nafnlausir þar sem þeir komu úr Loose threads poka sem ég fékk í fyrrasumar frá Silkweaver í Stash of the Month klúbbnum. Samkvæmt munstrinu á að vera stjarna hægra megin við jólasveininn en ég á enga svoleiðis þannig að ég ætla bara að sleppa henni. Sveinki er bara fínn svona með skeggið sitt og fuglinn :-)

A bearded Santa

I got the Wisper I needed for this months ornament in the mail yesterday and I started almost instantly on the ornament I had chosen to do. This ornie is called Joyful Santa and is from Homespun Elegance and was in the 2004 Ornament issue of JCS. He's just the cutest with his beard. I love this wisper thread. He's stitched for the Ornaments with KarenV SAL on the Friends Gather BB. There's a different designer for each month as a theme and this is the first time I've chosen a ornament that is from this months designer. My tastes are just a little bit strange, even if they are changing.. Maybe that's good coz I just can't afford to start liking more designers right now! :-D

Joyful Santa is stitched on 28ct Pearl linen and the color of the fabric is natural. The green overdyed thread is WDW called Juniper and the red handdyed color is a nameless GAST and so is the blue one in the bird. They're nameless GAST's coz I got them in a Loose threads bag that Silkweaver sent along with their Stash of the Month club last summer. Also, according to the pattern there is supposed to be a star on the right side of the santa but I think I'll leave that out since I don't have a star like the one in the mag. Besides I like my santa like that, he's so cute with his beard and the blue bird :-)

Í dag er mánudagur og þó ég hafi póstað framgangi þessa SALs á fimmtudaginn seinasta þá eru mánudagarnir yfirlýstir uppfærsludagar og ég ætla að reyna að halda mig við það héðan í frá.. Sjáum til hvernig gengur :-D

Ég ákvað að sauma í trénu hægra megin við engilinn og náði að gera heilan helling. Það eru bara eftir perlurnar í trén og ég jafnvel byrjaði á snjónum fyrir neðan tréð! Mín bara góð :-D

Já og Watercolours liturinn sem mig langaði að éta fyrr í dag heitir Orange Blossoms.. Virkilega jömmí!

Today is monday, and even if I posted about my progress on this SAL last thursday, mondays are official updating days. I'm going to try and keep to that from now on.. We'll see how that goes :-D

I decided to work on the tree on the angel's right hand side and made considerable progress. I only have the beads left to do in that tree and I even started on the snow below that tree! I'm on fire :-D

Oh, the Watercolours color I wanted to eat earlier today is called Orange Blossom. Very yummy!

Ég elska þetta fyrirkomulag hjá þeim í Stitching Bits and Bobs! Maður situr bara heima og fær upp í hendurnar flottasta garn í heimi! :-) Ég er áskrifandi að Weeks Dye Works garni í Collections og svo fékk ég mér líka Anything goes valkostinn. Í honum kemur allt mögulegt. T.d. fékk ég núna Wildflowers, Watercolours, Soie Crystale, Cresent Colors, GAST og Needlepoint Inc. silkigarn. Allt í voðafallegum gulum litum (eflaust vegna páskanna :-D ) og mikið er ég skotin í þessum lit sem Watercolours kom í. Virkilega fallega ljósgulur og ljósbleikur. Man ekki hvað hann heitir en ég gæti étið hann!

Jæja, ég ætla að fara aftur fram og dást að garninu mínu :-D

Monthly Bits

I love this set-up! I just sit at home and get delivered to me the most amazingly beautiful flosses and fibers in the world! :-) I'm subscribing to the WDW option in collections and I also have Anything Goes in Surprise me option. As the name says anything goes with that and now I got Wildflowers, Watercolours, Soie Crystale, Crescent colors, GAST and Needlepoint Inc. Silk. All in very pretty yellow tones (probably because of easter :-D ) and I so love the Watercolours floss.. That color is so pretty, with pale yellow and pale pink tones.. Can't remember the name but I could eat it!

Well, I better get back to admiring my fibers :-D

UFO stykkið

Loksins fékk það smá athygli. Ég hafði ákveðið að sauma í Vetrardrottningunni í dag, en þegar ég fór fram í stofu til að ná í hana þá var eitthvað svo sorglegt að sjá UFO stykkið í körfunni, aleitt og yfirgefið :-\ Þannig að ég tók það með mér inn í herbergi og saumaði í því í morgun.

Ég saumaði í fjöllunum og náði að gera helling. Auðvitað er það allt hálfspor en það er sama, ég er sátt :-) Afsakið myndina samt, ég náði ekki að taka betri mynd. Litirnir eru allir stórskrýtnir á þessari!

UFO piece

I finally gave that some attention. I had decided to work on the Winter Queen today but when I went to pick it up in the living room it was so sad to see the UFO piece just sitting there, alone and abandoned :-\ So I took that with me to my room and stitch on it a little this morning.

I worked on the mountains and did a lot. Of course that is all halfcrosses but it fine, I'm ok with that :-) Sorry about the pic though, I couldn't take a better pic. The colors are all out of whack on this one (and all the others I took trying to get a better picture)!

24 tíma áskorun

Það var einhver ruglingur í gangi hvort þetta væri önnur helgin í mánuðinum eða ekki en eins og allir vita :-D er alltaf 24 tíma áskorun á Friends Gather BB aðra helgi í hverjum mánuði. Ég hafði ætlað að gera jólaskrautið fyrir Ornaments with KarenV eins og ég hef gert undanfarna tvo mánuði en mig vantar tvenns konar spesgarn (bæði wisper) til að gera jólaskrautið sem mig langar að gera og þó ég sé búin að panta það þá er það ekki komið enn. Ég held að ég fái það eftir helgi.

Í stað jólaskrautsins ákvað ég að gera Spring Bluebird frá Waxing Moon Designs en þetta er freebie sem hægt er að nálgast á heimasíðu þeirra. Ég var búin að kitta þetta upp fyrir nokkru síðan en tók alltaf eitthvað annað verkefni fram fyrir þannig að mér fannst alveg kominn tími á að sauma þetta litla grey. Ég byrjaði rétt eftir miðnætti í gærkvöld og kláraði seinasta krossinn núna fyrir ca. klukkutíma. Ég ákvað að strauja aðeins efnið þar sem það var orðið ansi vel brotið saman eftir nokkra mánuði í pokanum sem ég setti það í og garnið. Garnið er DMC og efnið sem ég valdi er svona mystery efni, en ég fékk það hjá Helgu í Hannyrðahorninu fyrir jól. Ég veit a.m.k. að það er 32ct og natural. En mér finnst líklegt að þetta sé Belfast sko en þetta er alla vegana hör :-)

Það var bara mjög gaman og þokkalega auðvelt að sauma þennan litla sæta fugl. Ég hef nóg pláss á efninu að gera annan og ég held að Autumn Blackbird verði fyrir valinu. Annars gæti verið að ég geri Summer Sparrow. Er ekki alveg búin að ákveða það :-)

Ég ákvað að taka mynd af bakinu á fuglamyndinni enda hef ég sjaldan verið jafn stollt af baki á nokkurri mynd sem ég hef gert. Ég er alltaf að reyna að gera vel og vanda mig en stundum vill bakið bara fara í vesen.. Maður er þá ekki að vanda sig nóg! En núna tókst þetta svakalega vel :-D Þó ég segi sjálf frá auðvitað LOL

24hr Challenge

There was some confusion as to whether this was the second weekend in the month or not but like everyone knows it's time for the 24hr Challenge on Friends Gather BB when the second weekend of the month rolls around. I had planned to do the ornament for Ornaments with KarenV like I've done the last two months but I am missing 2 wisper threads for the ornament I have in mind. I have ordered it but it's not here yet. I hope it will arrive after the weekend.

Instead of the ornament I decided to do the Spring bluebird from Waxing Moon Designs. It's a freebie from their website and I had kitted it up quite a while ago but always picked other things to stitch ahead of this one. So I figured it was about time I stitched the little birdie :-) I started a little after midnight last night and finished about an hour ago. I needed to iron the fabric a little coz the fold was seriously deep. The fold is still visible even after steaming the fabric and all with the iron. I used DMC and the fabric is a mystery piece I got from a lady that sells cross stitch supplies here in town. I do know it's a 32ct and it's most likely Belfast. At the very least its a linen of some sort :-D

I really enjoyed stitching the little bluebirdie, it was easy and fun. I have room on the fabric for one more bird and I'm leaning towards the Autumn Blackbird right now. Or the Summer Sparrow. Either one it will be :-)

I also took a photo of the back of my work. I've never done that before so this means I'm very proud of it. I usually try and pay attention to what I'm doing and try to keep the back neat but sometimes that just isn't possible or I'm not mindful enough about the backside. This time I think it is very good :-) Even if I say so myself LOL

Ég hef nú ekki verið alltof dugleg að sauma í þessari :-\ En svona er þetta stundum, það grípur eitthvað mann eða maður dettur úr stuði. Sú hefur verið staðan hjá mér undanfarna daga. Ég hef ekki haft áhuga á neinu, ekki einu sinni saumadóti! Þá er nú soldið slæm staðan hjá mér :-D

Mér sýnist að ég sé búin með alla krossa í englinum. Ég er nokkuð sátt við það, næsta skref er sennilega að gera trén. Eða klára rammann í kring.. Annað hvort :-D

Woodland Grace SAL update no. 4

I haven't done much in this one lately :-\ But that's how it goes sometimes, something else grips you or you don't feel like stitching. Which has been the case for me lately. I haven't had interest in anything, let alone stitching. That means something isn't right in my world :-D

I think I've finished all the cross stitches in the angel. I'm quite ok with that :-) Next step is probably to stitch the trees. Or finish the border.. Either one :-D

Lavender frá Permin

Einhvern tíma fékkst þetta munstur gefins frá Permin og ég hlóð því niður að sjálfsögðu af því að það var frítt :-) Ég ákvað að sauma þessa mynd núna sem þakklætisvott fyrir konu sem gerði mér góðan greiða í lok mars. Svo er þessi kona bara búin að vera mér mjög góð að öllu leyti og því langaði mig að sýna smá þakklæti í verki. Ég ætla að klára þetta stykki sem svona ilmpoka en ég ætla að setja blúndu í opið á pokanum og reyna að gera þetta soldið fínlegt. Ég er búin að vera veik undanfarið og hef því ekki komist í búð til að finna eitthvað sætt í það en vonandi fer ég að komast út úr húsi bráðum. Maður getur orðið brjálaður af minna en að hanga inni allan daginn! Svo er maður svo máttlaus að hvert smáverk er eins og að hlaupa maraþon (ekki að ég hafi hlaupið maraþon en ég efast ekki um að það sé erfitt!).

Lavender from Permin

This design was a freebie some time ago from Permin and I downloaded it of course coz it was free :-) I decided to do this design now as a thank you to a very nice lady who did a very thoughtful thing for me in the end of march. And this lady has just been very supportive for me lately and kind so I just wanted to show her my gratitude. I'm going to finish this as a sachet but I'm going to put some kind of lace at the opening of the sachet and try and make it look very delicate. But since I've been sick these last few days I haven't been able to go to any stores to look for something cute for that purpose. I could go mental being stuck inside like this all day long! And I'm so low on energy that every little thing becomes like running a marathon (not that I've ever run a marathon but I don't doubt that it's very hard!).

April already?

I can't believe the year is 1/4 over.. It's mindblowing.

As this post is about goals, I'd like to say that I'm quite proud of my accomplishments this month, I did manage to make myself a scissor keeper and of course the snow fall roll plus the things I set out to do (except for the Stitch-a-thon and I haven't been really productive in the UFO tuesdays project). Overall I'm pleased with this month. Next month is going to be exactly the same except instead of a needleroll exchange I have a biscornu exchange on the SBEBB. And I hope to be able to join the Stitch-a-thon in April. I was busy working that weekend this month so I couldn't join. Which is a shame coz I enjoy those.

Lastly, one question about afghans. Those of you that have stitched on Lady Elizabeth afghan, do I stitch over one or two threads? I really want to start the afghan I got in the mail this month (the kitty one) and do maybe one square a month. Or more if I'm up to it :-)

Snjókallanálarúllan tilbúin!

Mikið er hún flott :-) Afsakið samt myndina, ég þurfti að nota flassið og þetta kom bara alls ekki vel út. Svo er hin svo hreyfð að það hálfa væri nóg. Ég er soldið skjálfhent þegar ég er þreytt :-D

Ég tók samt eftir tveim mistökum í dag þegar ég var að sauma seinustu perlurnar í. Ég taldi vitlaust þannig að efsta og næst efsta röðin (smyrnakrossarnir og snjókornin) eru tveim þráðum of ofarlega. Sem gerir svo sem ekkert til, skárra en að ég hefði talið of lítið! En hin mistökin eru aðeins kjánalegri. Ég þarf augljóslega að taka mig á með að lesa leiðbeiningar. Smyrnakrossarnir eiga nefnilega ekki að vera svona stórir eins og ég geri þá, þeir áttu að vera fjórir á þessu svæði sem ég set einn. Ég bara nennti ekki að laga þetta í dag, enda finnst mér þetta koma bara vel út. Hitt væri eflaust æðislegt líka en mér finnst þetta koma ágætlega út. Ef ég hefði verið óánægð með útkomuna hefði ég pottþétt rakið það allt upp til að gera þetta rétt. Kannski ég geri þessa rúllu handa einhverjum í framtíðinni og þá get ég gert hana alveg eins og í leiðbeiningunum :-)

Ég lærði 2 ný spor, medallion stitch og three sided stitch. Sem er alveg eins og four sided stitch, nema með þrem hliðum í stað fjögurra :-D En það er alltaf gaman að læra nýja hluti :-)

Snowfall needleroll HD!

I really like this one :-) I'd like to apologize for the photo, I had to use the flash and it just didn't come out that great. And the other one is so blurred it's terrible. My hands get a little shaky when I'm tired :-D

Nevertheless, I noticed two mistakes while I was adding the beads today. First off, the two top bands are two threads too high. Which is ok, much better than if it had been the other way round! I don't really mind that mistake. The other one is kinda silly. I really must read the instructions better in the future. The smyrna crosses aren't supposed to be that big. In the instructions it's shown that there are supposed to be 4 smyrna crosses where I only put one. That was a major downer first, but I just didn't feel like ripping the big ones out and besides I like the way the roll looks with the big smyrna crosses. If I didn't like it I would definately rip them out and do it the way it's shown in the instructions. I may even do this roll again in the future and then I will do it like it's supposed to be :-)

I learned two new stitches, medallion stitch and three sided stitch. That last one is just like the four sided stitch except this one has 3 sides and the other 4 sides :-D But it's always fun to learn new things :-)

Ný nálarúlla og litlu kisurnar mínar

Ég byrjaði á snjókalla nálarúllunni minni frá Shepherd's Bush á mánudaginn seinasta, við Linda ákváðum að reyna að sauma hana á sama tíma :-) Ég veit ekki hvernig henni gengur með hana, en ég er ekki búin að vera neitt voðalega dugleg að sauma í þessari nálarúllu, sem er soldið skrýtið þar sem þetta eru snjókallar sem ég er svo skotin í. Ekki að það sé leiðinlegt að sauma hana, það er bara búið að vera einhver leiðindi í mér undanfarið og ég hef lítið saumað (miðað við stundum). Kannski er það bara vorið sem fer svona í mann, maður vill frekar vera úti en að sitja inni og sauma? Veit ekki.

En já, ég vildi sýna status mynd af árangrinum.

Svo er önnur mynd sem ég vil endilega sýna, ég er nefnilega með pínu-ponsu-litla kettlinga og þeir eru allir sofandi núna (sem er kraftaverk, þetta er ótrúlegt hvað þeir hafa mikla orku!) og ég bara varð að smella mynd af þeim :-) Yfirleitt þegar ég reyni þá eru þeir ekki allir á sama stað og einn fer í burtu eða allt er svo hreyft að það hálfa væri nóg. En núna tókst þetta með miklum ágætum :-)

Það er svo sætt að sjá þá þarna með Simba úr Lion King :-D

A new needleroll and my littlest kittens

I started my Snowfall needleroll (from Shepherd's Bush) on monday, Linda and I are doing a kind of a SAL :-) I don't know how she's coming along but it's been rather slow going for me with this one, which is kinda strange coz it's snowmen and they're my favorite. And it's not that I don't like stitching it. I've been feeling kinda off lately and haven't been stitching a whole lot (not like usual at least). Maybe it's just the spring time affecting me like this, wanting to spend more time outside than inside stitching? Dunno.

Well, I wanted to show a status pic of my needleroll.

And here's another pic to show off, the lady of the house had kittens a little while ago and they are so cute! They're all sleeping right now (which is a miracle, it's amazing how much energy thise little things have!) and I just had to capture this cuteness :-) Usually when I try to take a pic of them they move or one goes off or the picture is blurry but this time it's perfect :-) They're so adorable lying there with Simba from Lion King :-D

Vetrardrottningin 10. færsla

Ég sat aðeins með Vetrardrottningunni í kvöld og saumaði í hárinu á henni og svo í öxlinni hennar og kjólnum þar. Ég er búin með næstum alla krossa í hárinu á henni núna, það vantar bara grænu litina og svo eru þarna tvö eða þrjú gleymd spor, ég tók ekki eftir þeim þegar ég var að sauma einn litinn en það er svo lítið mál að gera þessi örfáu spor að ég nenni því ekki :-D

Ég þarf að fara að fjárfesta í framlengingu á Q-snapið því ef ég held áfram niður kjólinn þá mun drottningin verða of stór í þetta Q-snap sem ég á (en ég verð víst að sauma niður kjólinn ef ég ætla að klára hennar hátign einhvern tímann :-D )

Winter Queen part 10

I sat with the Winter Queen tonight and stitched on her hair as well as her shoulder and the shoulder of her dress. I'm almost done with the cross stitches in her hair, there is only the greens left and there are also a couple or so stitches that I kinda forgot. I didn't notice the symbols on the chart when I was stitching one color so a few are empty now. It's such an easy thing to fix that I just can't be bothered :-D How lazy is that? :-D

I really need some extender bars for my Q-snap.. If I decide to stitch farther down her dress (which I have to do if I plan to finish her some day :-D) then I can't use the Q-snap no more..

Lottery Exchange

I got this adorable little wall hanging from Nancy :-) It was my win in the Lottery Exchange on the SBEBB and it's just so cute :-) I love the cup and the cloud pattern on it. Very pretty. Nancy also sent me some tea and a skein of limited edition Stranded by the Sea floss. Very pretty pinkish color. I've been spoilt :-D

I would like to thank you guys for the wonderful comments you've made the last few days about my new look :-) It's always nice to have comments and you guys have been so supportive :-) It's awesome! :-D

Nýtt útlit

Jæja, það eru svo margir bloggarar sem ég heimsæki oft búnir að skipta um lúkk á bloggunum sínum að ég smitaðist og ákvað að breyta hjá mér líka :-) Ég var líka orðin soldið leið á grænu doppunum..

Þetta útlit fann ég eftir smá leit hérna. Það heitir Subdued Lily og ég varð voðalega skotin í því strax. Það tók smá tíma að gera þetta nothæft, en ég vildi auðvitað hafa progress bar áfram í hliðarmenu og ég vildi hafa bloggrúlluna mína. Ég held ég hafi náð að laga þetta nokkuð vel að mér og mínum þörfum núna og er bara nokkuð sátt. HTML er kannski ekki mín sterkasta hlið en ég náði tökum á þessum breytingum nokkuð auðveldlega :-)

New look

A lot of the bloggers I follow have been changing the look of their blogs recently and I caught the bug and decided to change my look too :-) I'll admit I was a little sick of the green dots..

I found this look at this place. It's called Subdued Lily and I fell for it immediately. It took a little while to make it usable, because of course I wanted to keep the progress bars and the blogroll. I think I've adjusted this look to fit me and my needs and am quite content. HTML is not my strongest suit but I handled these changes quite easily :-)

Vetrardrottningin færsla 9

Ég hef haft mikið samviskubit undanfarið af því ég hef ekki sinnt Vetrardrottningunni minni nægilega. Það var UFO dagur í dag og ég ætlaði að vinna í Window To The West en þegar ég settist niður til að sauma eftir að hafa póstað seinustu færslu varð samviskubitið þess valdandi að ég ákvað að sauma í Vetrardrottningunni. Enda er hún að fara að verða UFO með þessu áframhaldi! Ég hefði unnið í henni um helgina á Stitch-a-thon SAL á Friends Gather en ég var bara að vinna svo mikið að ég hafði varla orku til að halda á nál hvað þá að nota hana til að sauma með..

Ég tók tvær myndir af árangrinum, önnur af henni allri, en hin er af andlitinu enda hélt ég áfram að vinna í hárinu á henni. Það er nú ekki mikið eftir þar :-)

Þessi árangur er nú ekki allur frá í kvöld, en ég saumaði aðeins í þessari mynd í byrjun mánaðarins, minnir að það hafi verið 1. mars meira að segja.

Winter Queen, part 9

I've been thinking alot about my Winter Queen lately and how neglected she must feel. Today was UFO day and I had planned to work on Window To The West but when I sat down after posting my last entry to this blog I noticed the lady and felt horrible. That resulted in me picking her up and I did make a little progress. But if this carries on I have a new UFO on my hands. I really need to be more attentive to my Queen. I would've worked on her last weekend at the Stitch-a-thon at Friends Gather BB but I had to work the whole weekend so when I got home I was so tired that I couldn't even hold a needle, so stitching with one was out of the question..

I took two pics of my progress so far, one is of the whole thing and the other is a close-up of her face. I continued to stitch her hair tonight. There's not much left to do of that :-)

I must say though that this isn't all from tonight's work. I did pick Winter Queen up and stitched a bit on her in the beginning of the month, I think it was March 1. actually.

Ég náði að klára blessaða gæsina í dag, en ég ákvað að vinna í henni fram að kvöldmat. En ég sá að það var svo lítið eftir að ég ákvað að klára hana bara :-)

Hérna er svo mynd af öllu saman. Þetta er ekkert smá gaman, að sjá stykkið vaxa svona fyrir augunum á manni :-D

EMS nálarúlluskipti

Konan sem ég saumaði nálarúllu fyrir í nálarúlluskiptunum á EMS síðunni er búin að fá hana og mikið rosalega er ég fegin því að henni líkaði það sem ég gerði handa henni.

Ég saumaði nálarúllu frá Lavender Wings en munstrið heitir Planted Hearts. Ég valdi að sauma hana á handlitað efni frá Silkweaver sem ég átti (enda átti ég ekki það sem var tiltekið í munstrinu) og mér fannst passa vel við. Sá litur sem ég valdi heitir Carol's Meadow og er virkilega fallega ljósgrænn. Ég var voðalega sátt við útkomuna enda var mjög erfitt að skilja við gripinn þegar kom að því að senda rúlluna til eiganda síns :-)

Talandi um Silkweaver þá fékk ég loksins desember pakkann í FOTM klúbbnum sem ég er í í dag.. Betra seint en aldrei, ekki satt :-D Efnin voru öll glitrandi (opalescent) og virkilega falleg. Þetta voru 32ct Lugana Ice Blue, 32ct Lugana Porcelain og 28ct Jazlyn Iris Garden.

EMS Needleroll Exchange

The lady I stitched a needleroll for in the exchange I took part in on the EMS board has informed me that she's received it and I'm so glad that she said she liked it :-)

I made a needleroll from Lavender Wings but the pattern is called Planted Hearts. I chose to stitch it on a handdyed jobelan from Silkweaver that I had (I didn't have the color that the pattern called for anyway) and I felt would work for this particular design. The color I chose is called Carol's Meadow and it's a really pretty light green. I was really happy with the resulting needleroll and it was really hard to part with it when it came time for sending it off to it's owner :-)

Speaking of Silkweaver, I finally got the december package in my FOTM club. Better late then never, I guess :-D The fabrics I got were all opalescent and so pretty. They were 32ct Lugana Ice Blue, 32ct Lugana Porcelain and 28ct Jazlyn Iris Garden.

Ég byrjaði í gærkvöldi að sauma í gæsinni sem er næst á dagskrá hjá mér í 12 dögum jóla. Ég hef ekki náð að gera eins mikið og ég vildi, sérstaklega vegna þess að ég sat bara og glápti á sjónvarpið í kvöld :-) En ég var eitthvað að þykjast að sauma í kvöld.. það eru bara ekki allir dagar saumadagar sko! En já, ég er kannski búin með 30% af gæsinni og mikið hlakka ég til að sjá hana tilbúna :-D Hún er svo sæt og krúttleg með eggin sín :-)

I started on the 7th pic last night which is the goose. I didn't manage to do as much as I liked last night and tonight, especially because I just sat and watched tv tonight :-) But I was with the needle in hand and ready to stitch.. I guess some days aren't stitchy days! But yeah, I think I may have done about 30% of the goose and I look forward to seeing her finished :-D She's so adorable and cute with her eggs :-)

Í dag hefur allur minn aukatími farið í að sauma scissors keeper en ég fann ókeypis munstur að fullt af slíkum litlum aukahlutum á heimasíðu Drawn Thread. Ég gerði þennan sem heitir Forget-me-not og ég er svakalega ánægð með hann.

Ég átti reyndar ekki 36ct Edinborough Linen en ég átti 32ct Belfast linen í þessum lit sem mælt er með í uppskriftinni, kremlituðu, og ég ákvað að nota það í staðinn. Svo í stað DMC garns ákvað ég að nýta Silk Mori garnið mitt í þetta. Ég notaði meira að segja Silk Mori í cording til að hafa sama lit í festingunni og í skærapúðanum sjálfum. Ég fór í einu og öllu eftir leiðbeiningunum en ég er samt ekki alveg nógu ánægð með bakið, ég hefði mátt vanda mig betur til að fá það jafnara.. Stafirnir og ártalið eru ekki alveg þráðbein en samt ekkert óskiljanleg þannig :-) Ég setti F R og árið 2006 að sjálfsögðu :-) F R er auðvitað Fanný Rósa :-D Það passaði ekki að hafa B þarna með.

Í öðrum fréttum kláraði ég nálarúlluna fyrir Spring Needleroll Exchange á EMS síðunni um helgina. Ég sendi hana af stað í gær og hún kemst vonandi á leiðarenda á innan við viku :-) Svo frétti ég að Becky væri búin að fá Lottóvinninginn sinn :-) Ég saumaði skærapúða fyrir Lottóleikinn á SBEBB og hún vann hann :-) Og er búin að fá hann og sagðist vera ánægð með hann :-) Sem gleður mig mjög því ég var svakalega skotin í honum. Virkilega stollt bara af þeim frágangi og hvernig það kom út.

A scissors keeper

Today all my spare hours have gone into stitching a scissors keeper but I found a free pattern I wanted to do on the Drawn Thread homepage. I made the one called Forget-me-not and I'm so happy with it :-)

I didn't have the 36ct Edinborough Linen that the pattern called for but I did have 32ct Belfast Linen in the color specified, cream, and decided to use that instead. And instead of DMC floss I used Silk Mori. I even used it for the cording to have the same color as the blue in the flowers. I followed the finishing instructions completely but I'm not happy enough with the back (therefor there's no pic :-D), I could've been move attentive to match the sides up better. The initials and year aren't in a straight line but it's not like it doesn't make any sense :-D I used F R and the year 2006 of course :-) F R stands for Fanný Rósa :-) It didn't fit to put B there for my last name.

In other news I finished the needleroll for the Spring Needleroll Exchange on the EMS board this weekend. I sent it off to it's destination yesterday and I'm hoping it will reach it in less than a week. And I also heard that my Lottery entry piece reached it's new owner :-) Becky was the one to get it and she said she liked it :-) I'm glad coz I was really proud of that piece, the finishing and how it turned out overall.

Woodland Grace SAL 3. færsla

Ég var ekki í stuði til að blogga í gær en ég saumaði í Woodland Grace myndinni af því ég þurfti að rekja upp það litla sem ég gerði á mánudag þannig að UFO stykkið sat á hakanum enn einu sinni. En a.m.k. saumaði ég eitthvað og lagaði það sem afvega fór.. Þá er það ekki eftir til að letja mann frá því að vinna í verkefninu :-) Smá Pollíönnuleikur :-D

Woodland Grace SAL 3rd post

I wasn't in any mood to blog last night but I stitched a little on the Woodland Grace project coz I had to frog the little I had done monday night so my UFO piece was ignored yesterday, as happens sometimes. But I at least stitched something and fixed my mistake.. Which means it won't give me an excuse not to stitch on WG next monday :-) I'm trying to be optimistic here :-D

Var þetta góður pakkadagur eða hvað? Jamm, ég held það bara! Ég fékk munstur frá Stoney Creek með kettlingamyndum sem ég pantaði mér um daginn og með því kom Lady Elizabeth Afgan sem ég ætla að sauma kisumyndirnar í :-) Svo var það ekki allt, því ég fékk líka Monthly Bits pakkann frá Stitching Bits and Bobs. Ég get hreinlega baðað mig upp úr garni og flottheitum núna :-)

Was this a good mailday or what? Yeah, I think so! I got a Stoney Creek chartbook with the cutest kittens I ordered a couple of weeks ago and with it was a Lady Elizabeth Afghan. I'm so going to make that kitty afghan :-D But that's not all coz I also got my Montly Bits from Stitching Bits and Bobs. I can litterally bathe in flosses and lovelies right now :-)

24klst áskorun og jólaskraut :-)

Ég tók þátt í 24hr Challenge á Friends Gather um helgina og eins og seinast ákvað ég að gera jólaskraut fyrir Ornaments with KarenV SAL-ið til að slá tvær flugur í sama högginu. Þetta er svo mikil snilld :-D

Í þetta skiptið saumaði ég mynd sem fór sko beint á listann minn þegar ég renndi í gegnum Just Cross Stitch ornament blaðið þegar ég fékk það. Það er nefnilega Britty Christmas Kitty og er hannað af Brittercup Designs. Ég hef einu sinni áður saumað litla mynd frá þeim og ég er svo skotin í þessum kisum! Þær eru svo sætar og þessi jólakisa er langsætust! :-) Eina vandamálið er að þessi mynd er öll saumuð yfir einn þráð! Þetta er í annað sinn sem ég geri slíkt. Seinast þegar ég gerði svona fékk ég nokkur heilræði frá góðum konum (hérna í komments á blogginu) og ég nýtti mér þau ráð við þetta verkefni. Kærar þakkir þið sem komuð með góð ráð :-D

En já, ég byrjaði á myndinni rétt eftir kl. 3 í gærdag og í gærkvöldi var ég búin með kisuna sjálfa og dökkgræna litinn í trénu. Svo í morgun gafst mér tími til að klára tréð og þar með myndina. En áður en ég settist niður í morgun við saumaskap bakaði ég eitt stykki köku :-D Ég er þvílíkur dugnaðarforkur í dag, þó ég segi sjálf frá :-D

Á meðan ég man, þetta er saumað í 28ct Queen Anne's Lace Hand-dyed Jobelan frá Silkweaver (fannst það vera minna samt!) með WDW garni.

24hr Challenge and Ornament :-)

I participated in the 24hr Challenge on Friends Gather BB again this month and like last time I decided to do the Ornament SAL with the same design. It's such genius! :-D

This time I stitched a design that went straight to my to-do list when I looked through JCS ornament issue when I first got it. The design is Britty Christmas Kitty and is designed by Brittercup Designs. I've done one of their little designs before and these kitties have stolen my heart! They're so cute and the christmas kitty is the cutest one of them all! :-) The only problem was that this design is done over one! This is my second time doing over one stitching and I did enjoy it but it is rather tiresome for the eyes! Last time I stitched over one I asked for advice and got some wonderful comments that were very helpful this time around. I just want to thank you all who gave advice back in january. It helped me a whole lot :-D

So, I started yesterday at around 3 pm and when I retired to bed last night I had done the kitty and the dark green of the tree. And this morning I finished the last bit of stitching :-D But before I sat down to stitch I did manage to bake a cake :-D I feel very accomplished today :-D

Before I forget, the fabric is 28ct Queen Anne's Lace Hand-dyed Jobelan from Silkweaver and the threads are Weeks Dye Works. The fabric felt a lot smaller though!
