Ég gleymdi að sýna hvernig gekk með UFO stykkið mitt :-)

Það er algjört æði að sjá hvað ég hef gert mikið í því síðan í ágúst. Ég held að ég hafi byrjað á því snemma á árinu sem er að líða, en eftir að hafa gert húsin í bakgrunninum gafst ég upp og lagði það til hliðar. Ástæðan var sú að javinn er soldið harður og mér fannst vont að sauma í hann af þeirri ástæðu. Líka af því að mér fundust litaskiptin vera ansi mikil og mér fannst ekki mikill árangur sjást af því ég var alltaf að skipta um lit.

Þetta er fyrsta myndin sem ég tók af stykkinu eftir að ég ákvað að það yrði UFO verkefnið mitt.

Þetta er nú smá munur ekki satt? :-D

Hérna er staðan seinast þegar ég tók mynd en það var í byrjun nóvember. Ansi langt síðan :-(

UFO stitching

I seem to have forgotten to post an update on my UFO piece. I love seeing how much progress I've made since I picked it up again in August. I think I started this project early this year but the aida was quite harsh and the frequent color changes were getting to me. These two pics show the progress quite well :-)

fyrstu nálarúlluna mína!! Ta Da!

Ég er í skýjunum yfir að hafa fengið kjark til að leggja í klárið á þessari nálarúllu. Eins og þið kannski munið er þetta freebie frá Victoria Sampler og ég saumaði hana í nóvember. Ég lagði hana svo til hliðar af því ég var ekki viss á því hvernig ég átti að klára hana. Ég hreinlega þorði ekki að gera neitt því ég var svo hrædd um að klúðra því. En í gærkvöldi rakst ég á leiðbeiningar á netinu og þær voru svo auðveldar (og með góðum myndum) að ég ákvað að leggja í nálarúlluna mína. Það reyndar endaði svo að ég fór eftir leiðbeiningunum sem fylgdu uppskriftinni en það sem ég hræddist mest þar voru Nun's stitches en ég hafði aldrei gert þær áður og var hreinlega ekki viss hvernig þær ættu að snúa! En eftir að hafa fengið kjark frá netleiðbeiningunum ákvað ég að slá til og prufa þetta spor. Ég hugsaði með mér að ég gæti alltaf rekið upp og gert þetta hinsegin ef ég væri óviss.. En það endaði með því að ég fylgdi uppskriftinni alveg og það gekk rosalega vel. Tók soldinn tíma samt, þetta spor þarna er tímafrekt! Svo setti ég borðann í áðan og fyllti rúlluna og lokaði með slaufu. Nálarúllan er núna til sýnis á kommóðunni minni :-D

May I proudly present...

my first needleroll!!

I'm so happy that I managed to finish this one. I stitched the piece (which is a freebie from Victoria Sampler) in november but put it aside because I wasn't sure I could do the finishing. In particular it was the Nun's stitches that put me off. And the whole deal with this being my first time doing a needleroll. But last night I came upon some great finishing directions with pictures and they made me want to finish mine. I did end up doing the nun's stitches but only because I thought that I would at least try them and if I didn't think this was working out then I could rip them out. I ended up getting the hang of them and am kinda glad. They do take a while to do, the other finishing method would've been so much quicker. I put the bow in just now and stuffed the needleroll and now it's proudly displayed on my dresser :-D

frá Water's Edge. Ég fékk svaka sendingu í póstinum í gær en ég hafði pantað fullt af garni sem mig vantaði (eða ekki, fer eftir hvernig maður lítur á málið) til að sauma jólaskrautin sem ég hef ákveðið sauma á næsta ári. Alla vegana þá kom garnið í þessa sætu mynd og ég átti flott handlitað 28ct Lugana efni frá, hverjum öðrum, Silkweaver sem mér fannst eins og sniðið fyrir þessa mynd. Garnið er frá Weeks Dye Works sem ég held að ég hafi ekki prufað áður (flottir litir!) og perlurnar eru Mill Hill Magnifica. Engillinn á toppnum er bara frá mér en munstrið kallaði á stjörnu treasure frá Mill Hill sem ég átti ekki. Mér fannst engillinn svo sætur að ég ákvað að nota hann í staðinn.

Sorrí hvað myndin er ekki góð, en myndavélin var ekki í samvinnuhug núna.

Pöntunin sem ég fékk í gær var algjört æði. Hellingur af þráðum og perlum og látum :-) En samt vantar mig meira!! Skrýtið hvernig þetta áhugamál fer með mann :-) *Hérna er mynd af öllu garninu og perlunum sem ég fékk*

O Christmas Tree

I got a large fiber order from the US yesterday and amongst the fibers were the two needed for this piece. This ornament is from JCS 2004 and designed by Water's Edge. I need to put on the bow that's supposed to be on the flower pot but other than that it's done. I didn't have the star treasure it called for but I did have this angel and she's perfect right there :-D

The fabric is a hand dyed 28ct Lugana from Silkweaver's, of course :-D The threads are Weeks Dye Works and the beads are Mill Hill Magnifica. Sorry about the poor quality of the pic. My camera is not co-operating with me..

I got so many wonderful and beautiful threads and fibers that I'm still reeling over it all. I spent a great deal of time admiring them and stroking and then I decided to kit up the ornaments I'm planning to stitch. That way I can see which fibers or fabric are missing and order those. Strange, I just got a bucked load of threads and stuff but I still need more!.. This hobby is slowly but surely getting out of control.. And I like it ;-)

Fyrst kemur samt mat á desembermarkmiðum.

• Gera einhver jólaskraut, kannski 2 eða svo. Tókst!
• Halda áfram með Margaret Sherry SAL-ið Gerði voða lítið í því.
• Sauma aðeins í Vetrardrottningunni. Jamm, náði ágætum árangri.

Ég hætti að fylgja dagamynstrinu mínu í desember því ég hélt að ég hefði ekki tíma í það, sem var kannski vitleysa, veit ekki. En nú ætla ég að byrja af fullum krafti aftur og þar sem það er þriðjudagur mun ég sauma í Window to the West sem er UFO-stykkið mitt og í dag er UFO-dagur.

Þá eru það verkefni janúarmánaðar:

• Kortaskipti, sendingardagur 30. janúar
• Valentine Exchange á SBEBB, sendingardagur 1. feb.
• Lottery Exchange á SBEBB, sendingardagur 1. mars. (þarf að velja munstur og helst byrja á því)
• Jólaskraut handa Richelle (hún er listamamma í grúppu sem ég er í, en hún vann í Bingóleik sem ég hélt þar)
• Svo skráði ég mig í Mirabilia SAL grúppu til að hjálpa mér með einbeitninguna við Vetrardrottninguna.
• UFO-þriðjudagar eins og áður kom fram
• Margaret Sherry SAL á fimmtudögum
• Jólaskraut á laugardögum.
• Woodland Grace SAL með Sonju :-) Sorrí að ég gleymdi þessu.

Eins og sést verður nóg að gera hjá mér í janúar :-D

January Goals

I'm going to pick up my rotation again, I've got UFO tuesday today so I'm stitching on my UFO piece which is Window to the West from Dimensions in case you or I forgot ;-) It's been a while since I picked that one up so it's about time.. Thursdays are Margaret Sherry's 12 days of Christmas from Cross Stitcher magazine, and saturdays are going to be focused on christmas ornaments. Those will be for gifts next christmas and/or for my own tree :-)

I joined Carol's Mirabilia SAL group on Yahoo to keep me motivated with my Winter Queen. I am planning on finishing her this year and get her framed. I may even want to start another one of the Queens to accompany her. But that's a long way off I think :-)

January is going to be pretty busy for me, because of commitments I've made in various exchanges but I don't think I've overdone it. With a little planning and some flexibility in my other stitching projects things should go along well. And besides I've got plenty of time for that Lottery piece, as soon as I've chosen a pattern. That's what's the hard part. That goes for the Valentine exchange as well :-)

Nú er ég að hlusta á jólalög og komast í jólaskap :-) Vonandi hafið þið öll það sem best og ég hlakka til að heyra í ykkur og sjá á komandi ári. Ég óska ykkur öllum gleðilegra jóla og farsæls komandi árs :-)

Ég var að reyna að klára þessi tvö jólaskraut fyrir jól og það eina sem er eftir er að loka fyrir gatið og setja hengi og cording :-) Eins og sést skipti ég um skoðun varðandi efnið í Noel. Mér finnst þetta koma rosa vel út :-)

I'm listening to christmas songs and getting myself into the christmas spirit. Here in Iceland we celebrate the birth of Jesus tonight at 6 pm. Then we dine and after that everyone retires into the living room where we eat some more, this time it's chocolates, and open the packages. Then we call our relatives who aren't here and wish they were here and let them know they're missed :-)

Those ornies only need the finishing touch, closing the gap and adding hangers and cording. I changed my mind about the fabric for Noel but this one is more complementing I think. The red is closer to the one in the candy canes :-)

Í dag fékk ég svakalegan glaðning í póstinum, ég nefnilega fékk Vetrar RR-inn minn heim. Ég var aðeins búin að minnast á að það væri vesen með þennan RR en hann var minn fyrsti alþjóðlegi RR. Ég hafði verið svo ánægð með hvernig gekk með íslenska RR-inn sem ég var í að ég ákvað að taka þátt í einum erlendum, en það gekk voðalega illa. Tvær af fjórum duttu út (án þess að láta nokkurn mann vita) en sú sem fékk minn RR lenti í veikindum og gat því ekki tekið þátt. Þrátt fyrir það ákvað hún að sauma í minn og svo sendi hún mér hann aftur. Vegna veikindanna varð það ekki fyrr en núna en ég er bara ánægð að hafa fengið RR-inn til baka. Svo er ég rosalega ánægð með snjókallinn sem hún saumaði. Hérna er linkur á snjókellinguna sem ég gerði.

Svo kláraði ég vettling. Ég smitaðist af henni Lindu minni og keypti mér tvö kit til að sauma. Bara eitt þeirra er búið, ég veit ekki hvort hitt verði nokkuð gert fyrir jól. Það koma alltaf jól eftir þessi :-) En já, ég er svaka skotin í jólasveininum á vettlingnum.. og ánægð hvað það gekk vel að setja þetta saman. Ég gleymdi reyndar að setja hengi(?) á en það reddaðist :-)





Winter RR and a santa mitten

My first international RR was anything but a success. Two of the four ladies dropped out without any notice and the other one besides me got sick and went to the hospital. She was the one I was designated to send to and despite her health she stitched on my RR and despite the fact that she hadn't started one of her own (due to her stay in the hospital). I'm just so happy to have my RR home even if only one other person stitched on it. And I'm happy because she stitched a very nice looking snowman on my RR :-) Here's a link to my square on this RR.

Tonight I finished my first Mill Hill mitten. I fell for these after seeing them on Linda's blog and I bought myself two kits. I probably won't do the other mitten before this christmas. There's always next christmas ;-)

Ást mín á jólaskrauti sem Sue Hillis hefur hannað kemur berlega í ljós í þessu bloggi :-) Jólatréð frá því um daginn var hennar hönnun sem og þetta sæta nammistafapúðaskraut.. Ég gæti skírt þetta lengra orði en ég held að þetta dugi.. Það tók soldið langan tíma að sauma þetta skraut en ég byrjaði í þarseinustu viku og kláraði bara núna áðan. Ég er samt hrifin af því og hlakka mikið til að sjá það í púðaformi. Ég áætla að ég noti þetta efni á myndinni við gerð púðans.. Snjókallar sko!

Myndin er saumuð með DMC garni og á 25ct Antique white Lugana. Uppskriftin kallar á 28ct en ég átti það ekki.. Hverjum er ekki sama þó mitt sé aðeins stærra en uppskriftin vill!

Noel

Sue Hillis's christmas ornaments are fast becoming my fav's :-) I did take an awful long time stitching this one but I like it :-)

It's done with DMC colors and on 25ct Antique white Lugana. I love how it comes out and the fabric with the snowmen is the fabric I intend to use to make the pillow. I didn't find any with only candy canes on it or red and white like in the magazine. Therefor I decided to use snowmen instead :-) I do love my snowmen!

Ég saumaði nú ekki mikið í dúllunni minni í dag en samt nóg til að finnast þetta ganga vel :-) Í bili er komið nóg en ég er ákveðin í að halda áfram reglulega að sauma í drottninguna mína. Það var voðalega gaman núna þegar ég er orðin sátt við stærðina á henni :-)

Pósthúsið var opið í dag og ég fékk pakka frá Silkweaver! Svaka fjör! Í pakkanum var nóvember sendingin úr Rotating Club of the Month en ég fékk tvö 18x18 tommu stykki, eitt 28ct Cashel linen sem var bleikt á litinn, en liturinn heitir Coral Reef. Hitt stykkið var 32ct Belfast linen og sá litur heitir Peaceful Waters. Rosalega fallega blár. Ég er ofsalega sátt við þennan pakka, sérstaklega það að ég slapp við tollinn :-)

Winter Queen part 3

I didn't stitch an awful lot but I do feel I've made some progress. I've decided to stop for now but I'm having fun stitching on her and I will be picking my Winter Queen up more often. I'm sure of that :-)

In other news I got my first package from Rotating Fabric Club of the Month from Silkweaver. It had two 18x18 inch pieces, one 28ct Cashel linen in Coral Reef, very beautiful pinkish color and the other was 32ct Belfast linen in Peaceful Waters, nice soothing blue color on that one. I loved this shipment and most of all I loved not having to pay custom :-D

Svona næstum taka tvö :-) Ég er búin að vera agalega löt að sauma í drottninguna mína og ég skil varla sjálf af hverju það er. Sennilega hafa mér bara farist hendur þegar ég áttaði mig á því hversu mikið verk þetta er í rauninni. En samt vissi ég það svo sem.

Alla vegana, þessa helgi er hún aðalstykkið mitt og í dag hef ég gripið í hana eins og tækifærin hafa gefið mér tilefni til ;-) Furðulegt hvað er mikið að gera á litlu heimili stundum.. En já, jólin eru víst að koma og því fylgir kaupæði mikið og neysla matar eykst umtalsvert..

En aftur að Vetrardrottningunni minni. Kjalta hennar hefur stækkað umtalsvert að mínu mati en það vantar samt uppá að manni langi að kúra þarna :-D

Ég saumaði grátt og hvítt í dag (smá fjólublátt) og hérna sést hvernig hún var fyrir. Ég mun halda áfram að sauma í henni á morgun og pósta annarri mynd af árangrinum.

Winter Queen take 2

This weekend is dedicated to my dearest Winter Queen from Mirabilia. I've been stitching on her today as time has allowed me and I am quite pleased with the progress I've made. Her lap is getting bigger even if it's not very inviting :-D Not yet at least..

I saw that I last posted progress on October 17th. I find that really strange as today is exactly two months since then and I didn't stitch a single stitch in between now and then. But the important part is she's been rescued from UFO land and I don't plan on letting her go there again! Maybe that could be my new years resolution.. I don't do those but maybe for my Queen..

Today I mostly stitched grey and white and if you look here you'll see the difference. I'll keep stitching on her tomorrow and tomorrow night I'll post another progress report.

Linda úr Allt í Kross var svo æðisleg að kaupa fyrir mig Bugle perlur og gylltar perlur svo ég gæti sett kertin á blessað jólatréð mitt :-) Ég fæ henni ekki þakkað nógsamlega :-) Þessar perlur eru nefnilega ekki til hér á Hornafirði.

Ég er svakalega ánægð með jólatréð. Perlurnar sem eru í skreytingunni eru afgangsperlur úr Mill Hill myndunum sem ég hef gert og líka perlur sem ég fékk frá Silkweaver á meðan ég var í Stash of the Month klúbbnum. Ég hef ákveðið að klára stykkið eins og það er í blaðinu en þar er það lítill púði með cording utan með. Svaka sætt. Veit samt ekki hvort þetta klárist fyrir þessi jólin, maður veit samt aldrei :-)

Ég hef ekki ákveðið hvaða Mill Hill kit verður fyrst fyrir valinu en mér lýst vel á SAL, Sonja. En ég held að ég hafi ekki tíma til að byrja fyrr en í janúarbyrjun.. Ef það er í lagi þín vegna :-)

Victorian Christmas Tree with beads

Linda, list mom from Allt í Kross, was such darling and bought the bugle beads and gold beads I needed to make the candles for this adorable tree. My LNS (if I can call them that) don't carry beads of any kind so Linda offered to buy the beads in Reykjavík and send them to me. She's the ultimate pearl ;-)

I'm over the moon with the way it turned out and I just wish I could take a pic that does it justice. I just used leftover beads from various projects I've done in the past for the garland as well as some I got in Stash of the Month club at Silkweaver. This gorgeous christmas tree will most likely be finished as a pillow ornament like in the magazine. I just don't know if I will do it before this christmas or the next..

I still can't decide which Mill Hill kit will be the first to be stitched but Sonja (from Allt í Kross) has brought up the idea of a SAL with the Woodland Grace one. I'd love to do that but I don't think I'll be able to start before the start of January.

Ég var búin að minnast á að ég ætti von á Mill Hill og nú er það (loksins) komið :-) Ég nefnilega keypti 6 Buttoned and Beaded kitt á eBay og nú er ég í smá overloadi.. Veit ekkert hvað ég á að gera fyrst! :-D

All things Mill Hill

I just picked up all the Mill Hill buttoned and beaded kits from the 2005 series at the post office. I had won them on eBay and they've finally come home to me! The only thing that's not so good is I have no idea what to do first! :-D

Ég fann alveg hreint frábærar leiðbeiningar á netinu til að klára jólaskraut (og auðvitað venjulegt skraut líka :-) ) og ákvað að prufa þær á Love Tree frá M-Designs. Sniðugt að leiðbeiningarnar séu fyrir Peace Tree :-D

Ég hefði kannski átt að taka mynd af bakinu en það er rautt með holly laufum og berjum. Svakalega sætt. Ég er ekki búin að festa borðann enda er ég ekki viss um að hann fái að vera lengi. Sennilega kemur gyllt cording í staðinn, en ég er að melta það með mér.

Love Tree finished!

I found these awesome instructions online to make a padded ornament and I decided to try them on my Love tree. I had thought about finishing my Love tree as a small wallhanging, but I think it's better this way. And of course, there's no turning back now! :-D

Maybe I should've pictured the back but I forgot. It is a red printed fabric with holly leaves and berries, very festive :-) The ribbon isn't glued on there yet and I'm not sure I will (For one I don't have a glue gun) as I think I might just put golden cording on there instead. It would be better I think, but I still haven't decided.

Ég var búin að ákveða að sauma nokkur jólaskraut og þetta hérna var eitt af þeim. Þetta er úr Just Cross Stitch jólaskrautsblaðinu frá 2003 og hannað af Sue Hillis. Það er saumað á 28ct Dusty Miller Permin Linen með Silk Mori garni. Mikið rosalega er það mikill munaður að sauma með silkigarni. Svo er þetta bara alveg æðislegt munstur. Það eiga að vera perlur líka, en þær eiga að sýna jólaskrautið á trénu sjálfu. Þetta á eftir að koma rosalega vel út þegar þær eru komnar, en mér finnst nú tréð rosalega flott þó skrautið sé ekki komið :-)

Victorian Christmas Tree

I have made a list of a few ornaments I want to make and this was one of those. It's designed by Sue Hillis and is in JCS 2003 ornament issue. There are beads also that represent the garland and candles on the tree and I'm hopefully putting those on this weekend. I'm really happy with the way this came out even without the beads :-)

It's stitched with Silk Mori (like the design called for) on 28ct Dusty Miller Permin Linen :-)

Ég var að frétta að Outi væri búin að fá kortið sem ég saumaði handa henni í kortaskiptunum sem ég er að taka þátt í. Ég var mjög ánægð að fá nafnið hennar því ég hef lesið bloggið hennar í soldinn tíma og held að ég hafi náð hvernig smekk hún hefur. Hún virðist a.m.k. ánægð með kortið :-)

Ég setti svo nokkrar tölur (buttons) á kortið eftir að ég tók þessa mynd, til að aðeins gera það jólalegra :-)

Svo fékk ég í gær kort frá konunni sem saumaði handa mér og það er þvílíkt flott. Með því fylgdi smá jólaskraut sem ég er þegar búin að setja á litla jólatréð mitt :-) Það var með Pooh og Piglet. Ég hef sko alltaf verið mjög hrifin af honum Piglet.

Konan heitir Barbara og er frá Ítalíu sem saumaði þetta fallega kort handa mér. Hún sendi líka rosalega sætt kort þar sem hún sagðist hafa haft gaman af að sauma handa mér kortið :-) Mjög indæl kona.

Svo svona til að toppa þessa færslu þá er mynd af kortinu sem ég fékk í fyrsta hluta kortaskiptanna en það var haustþema í það skiptið.

Allt í allt, bara fín kortaskipti :-)

Card Exchange

I just got an email from Outi saying she received the card I stitched for her in a card exchange we're both in. I'm thrilled coz it seems she liked the design I chose and the things I sent along with it :-) The card I sent Outi is in the top pic.

I also received my card yesterday and it has the cutest santa on the front. I love him, he's so wise and kind in this design. The lady that stitched him for me is Italian and I have no idea if she has a blog or not. She also sent along two adorable little plastic ornaments with Pooh and Piglet. I've always been fond of Piglet so that was a big hit with me :-)

And the mushroom card pictured is from the first round of this exchange and that round had a fall/halloween theme to it. I forgot to take a pic of the one I sent out :-(

Þetta er December Flip It eftir Lizzie*Kate en það var Desember SAL í grúppunni. Ég er voðalega ánægð með hvernig þetta kemur út en ég notaði flotta græna garnið sem hún Danielle gaf mér um daginn :-) Mér finnst jólatréð á myndinni koma alveg æðislega vel út með þessum lit. Ég notaði líka einn lit frá Gentle Arts í piparkökukallinum. Svo átti ég gulan Kreinik þráð sem ég nýtti aðeins til að láta stjörnuna glitra og annan rauðan glitþráð í jólaskrautið á jólatrénu. Svo var þetta allt saumað á glitrandi aida java þannig að þetta er mikil glansmynd :-D Svo fer þessi mynd á jólakort handa vinkonu minni.

Næsta verkefni er að gera eina mynd enn sem fer á kort og svo er ég hætt í bili með svoleiðis dót. 12 dagar jóla kalla á mig :-)

Christmas card

This is of course December Flip It from Lizzie*Kate and it's the first design from her that I do (that I know of). I didn't have any of the threads that the design called for so I just used DMC but I decided to try out that fabulous green Needle Necessities threads I got from Danielle. I must say that color is awesome and this photo does not do it justice. In real life it's more vibrant somehow :-) I love it! I also used some Kreinik's I had in my stash, some yellow for the star and ornament, red for the decorations on the tree and some pearly color for the white in the ornament and the gingerbread man. I used some GAST I had for the brown in him as well. I like how this turned out. Which is good since I've decided to use it for a christmas card for a friend :-) Next up is another christmas card motiv (I haven't decided which) and then it's back to Margaret Sherry's 12 days of Christmas :-)

Mikið er ég ánægð með þessa mynd. Og líka með að vera búin að gera titlana fyrir ofan hinar þrjár líka..
Smellið bara á myndina til að sjá hana aðeins stærri. Mikið er samt erfitt að ná mynd af svona stóru.. Ekki skil ég hvernig er hægt að ná góðri mynd af stórum verkefnum eins og bútateppum. Ég kann ekki það vel á myndavélina mína..

Day 4 happy dance!

Finally I've done the backstitching on the purple bird and I love it. Like I promised there is a pic of all four now that I've finished the lettering above each design. I can't believe I'm 1/3 finished with this project! It's amazing..

Just click on the pics to see them larger. The one with all four is a little blurry. I don't know how people get good pictures of larger projects like quilts and stuff like that. I had such a problem with this one and it's not that big (yet!).

• Margaret Sherry SAL á fimmtudögum (Og alla aðra daga :-) Þetta verkefni hefur verið rosalega skemmtilegt hingað til og ég sé ekki fram á að það breytist)
• UFO á þriðjudögum (Já, ég slúttaði þessu víst fram á nýárið.)
• Jólalaugardagarnir auðvitað :-) (Eitthvað lítið hefur gerst í þessum málum en ég gerði þó eitt jólaskraut frá Mill Hill.. Það er eitthvað :-))

Ég saumaði ekki alla daga og efast um að ég hafi náð að sauma í 90 mín á þeim dögum sem ég saumaði eitthvað en það er líka allt í lagi því suma daga tók ég sko með trompi og saumaði næstum allan daginn bara :-) Kemur eflaust út á eitt.

Þá er það Desember:

• Gera einhver jólaskraut, kannski 2 eða svo.
• Halda áfram með Margaret Sherry SAL-ið
• Sauma aðeins í Vetrardrottningunni.

Ég er svo búin að skrá mig í Valentínusarskipti og þar er þemað hjörtu. Ég ætla að velja einhverja mynd til að gera og jafnvel byrja á því í desember. Svo er ég líka búin að skrá mig í lotterí þar sem maður gerir eitthvað (t.d. nálapúða, nálarúllu, skærapoka eða eitthvað) og svo er dregið úr hverjir senda hverjum (eftir að maður hefur séð myndir af öllu frá öllum). Þannig að maður fær að sjá allt sem er gert og svo er dregið úr hverjir fá hvað. Það er reyndar ekki fyrr en í mars eða eitthvað en ég hef aldrei klárað neina svona hluti þannig að ég þarf að æfa mig :-)

Goals for December

I'm going to make a couple of ornaments, keep on doing the 12 days of christmas from Margaret Sherry and pick up my Winter Queen again. She deserves a little attention :-) I've also decided to try and decide on a design for the Valentine exchange and perhaps start that as well (not sure that's gonna happen :-) ). I also signed up for the Lottery on SBEBB and need to figure out what to do for that as well.

Ég var að fá bestasta pakka í heimi! Ég fékk jólaskraut frá Danielle í jólaskrautsskiptunum og ég er helst á því að það sé flottasta jólaskraut í heimi!

Hvað finnst ykkur?

En það endaði sko ekki þar því pakkinn sem hún sendi mér var troðfullur af alls konar flottu dóti.
Bangsinn í snjókallabúningnum er ótrúlega flottur :-) og svo sendi hún mér Needle Necessities garn sem er æðislega fallega grænt. Svo fékk ég líka súkkulaði (á myndinni er ekki búið að opna kassann en það var þá, þetta er núna ;-) ) og miða fyrir skilaboð, kassa með snjókallamyndum á sem jólaskrautið var í og sætt jólakort. Ég er alveg orðlaus yfir þessari gjafmildi :-)

Christmas ornament from Danielle

I got my ornament from Danielle and she made me the cutest snowman and finished it with a nice bow. I love it and like I told her, I will cherish it forever :-)

She also sent me awesome goodies that I can't believe were all for me.. She sent a beautiful green floss from Needle Necessities that I'll use when I make my Joy Christmas Needleroll next year. And she sent chocolates (that won't make it till christmas ;-) ), a cute teddy in a snowman suit ornament, self-stick notes with the cutest motivs, a box to keep the ornament in and a nice handwritten card.

Danielle's generosity is overwhelming. I've already sent her a thank you letter, but I'd like to thank her once more. Thank you, Danielle. You made my day with this wonderful package and the snowman ornament you made me. It's already on display and it puts a smile on my face everytime I look at it :-)

Í gær náði ég ekki að klára afturstinginn á 4. myndinni, en það er góð ástæða fyrir því, ég nefnilega ákvað loksins að hafa textann á íslensku og eyddi dágóðum parti dagsins í að hlusta á Skrám skrifa bréf til jóla, og svo skrifa textann á rúðustrikað blað í réttu fonti og telja hvar miðjan er og svona. Svo kláraði ég alveg fyrstu 3 myndirnar og næst þegar ég set inn mynd af árangrinum sýni ég það líka.

I don't have a pic to share coz I didn't finish the backstitching on the calling bird.. But I have an explanation. I decided finally to have my wallhanging in Icelandic and spent a while translating (with some help from the Icelandic version of the christmas song). I also wrote the text up with the correct font and finished off the first 3 days with the lettering and all. I'll share a pic tomorrow, probably.
